How to create good habits using the 4 Laws of Behavior change
Some key takeaways i have learnt while reading "Atomic Habits": * Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results: Small, consistent improvements compound over time, leading to significant changes. * The 4 Laws of Behavior Change: * Make it Obvious: Design your environment to make good habits easy and bad habits hard. * Make it Attractive: Make good habits desirable and appealing. * Make it Easy: Reduce friction and make it easy to start good habits. * Make it Satisfying: Reward yourself for good habits to reinforce them. * Identity-Based Habits: Focus on changing your identity, not just your habits. When you believe you are a certain type of person, your actions will naturally align with that identity. * The Plateau of Latent Potential: Don't get discouraged by periods of little visible progress. Keep working on your habits, and eventually, you'll break through plateaus. * Habit Stacking: Tie a new habit to an existing one to make it easier to implement. * The Two-Minute Rule: Start new habits by making them as easy as possible, ideally taking only two minutes to complete. * The Importance of Environment: Your environment plays a crucial role in shaping your habits. Design your environment to support your goals. * The Power of Delayed Gratification: Prioritize long-term rewards over short-term pleasures.
