A historical study of proletarian movements would shed light on the limited character of this class. Marx himself clearly exposed its reformist character. From 1848, when it demanded the right to work, to 1917–1923, when it demanded full employment and self-management by workers’ unions, the proletariat rebelled solely within the interior of the capitalist system. This seems to conflict with Marx’s statements in his “Critical Notes on the Article ‘The King of Prussia and Social Reform.’ By a Prussian”. But at this moment the proletariat really manifested itself as a class without reserves, as a total negation. exactly, and if there’s one thing that bothers me, it’s the idea that i have to be either an individualist or a collectivist. how about acknowledging that there are people who are neither? who don’t view the ideas of the individual or the collective as sacred? who don’t submit to either? i don’t mind if you’re an anarchist, a communist, or whatever, but some people need to stop thinking that anyone who doesn’t conform to society and wants to break away from it, is just a communist or an anarchist. these people need to accept that there are people who don’t identify with either of those, or who don’t identify with anything at all, they need to stop thinking that everyone wants to be a communist or an anarchist; it almost seems like they want to impose these identities. it’s like those believers who are constantly proselytizing to try to recruit more members for the church—it’s extremely annoying, and i'm very tired of it. that just pushes me even further away from the so-called communism and anarchism
