Recently, FlyOne passengers have been facing last-minute schedule changes: the departure date and time may change, as well as the arrival airport. For example, today some passengers on the evening Yerevan-Moscow flight were moved to a flight with a wait of more than 30 hours before departure, while some also had their arrival airport changed. Passengers also note that information about changes is not always provided promptly. FlyOne flight 3F877 from Yerevan to Larnaca on 15 August was delayed by almost 11 hours. The aircraft was due to depart Armenia at 16:45, but actually took off on 16 August at 03:17. As a result, the return flight 3F878 from Larnaca to Yerevan was also delayed. According to the schedule, the aircraft was due to depart on 15 August at 18:40, but actually took off only on 16 August at 05:51. The delay therefore amounted to 11 hours and 11 minutes. Judging by Flightradar24 data, passengers who were travelling onwards from Yerevan, for example to Moscow, were not waited for. Flights from Yerevan to Moscow departed almost on schedule. A reminder that AirHelp and Compensair do not accept claims for delays on FlyOne flights, while the airline itself, as a rule, does not respond to such complaints submitted directly. EasyJet has changed its mind about operating flights between Larnaca and Geneva 🇨🇾 🇨🇭 The flights were originally planned to operate twice a week until 21 October. But now only Sunday flights until 30 August remain in the schedule. There are still available tickets from Geneva to Larnaca on 9, 16, 23 and 30 August, while from Larnaca to Geneva there are tickets only for 30 August, with the other dates sold out. 🇨🇾 🇰🇿 Air Astana has extended its direct flights between Larnaca and Astana until 3 October. The airline had initially planned to operate this route only until early September. Flights are scheduled twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights between Larnaca and Almaty currently remain in the schedule only until 6 September. Air Astana has not extended them so far. From 1 November 2026, citizens of Russia, Belarus, China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey will need a visa to enter Montenegro. The country is bringing its visa policy into line with EU rules. There is an exception: holders of a valid Schengen visa, as well as a visa or residence permit issued by Australia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, the USA or the UK, will not need a separate Montenegrin visa. These documents allow entry for up to 30 days, but not beyond their validity period. A Cypriot residence permit is not on this list: Cyprus is not yet part of the Schengen Area. Early on the morning of 16 July, several aircraft were unable to land at Larnaca Airport due to dense fog and were diverted to Paphos Airport. They included Wizz Air flights from Bratislava, Aegean from Athens, British Airways from London and Air Serbia from Belgrade. The diversions were caused by difficult weather conditions: thick fog significantly reduced visibility. In such cases, when delays or diversions are caused by the weather, airlines are not required under the current rules to pay compensation to passengers. However, not all flights were diverted to Paphos. Some aircraft managed to land safely in Larnaca, while others were forced to divert to an alternative airport. This was because the fog was uneven and visibility was changing rapidly. In addition, each type of aircraft and crew has its own operating minima under which a landing is considered safe. If conditions do not meet these requirements, and waiting for the weather to improve or making further landing attempts is limited by busy airspace and available fuel, the crew decides to proceed to an alternative airport. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised airlines operating flights to and from EU countries to temporarily avoid flying over the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and part of the Gulf of Oman. The recommendation is in effect until 29 July, but may be reviewed. The reason is military action in the region. According to EASA’s assessment, missile and drone attacks, air defence activity and the risk of aircraft being misidentified pose an increased threat to civil aviation. 🇨🇾 Cyprus has moved another step closer to joining Schengen. According to ANT1 Livei, the European Commission has completed its technical assessment and confirmed that Cyprus is technically ready to join the Schengen Area. Some issues remain, but they are already in the process of being resolved. However, Cyprus is not yet part of Schengen: border controls with other countries in the area remain in place, and the final decision must be approved by the Schengen countries.
