Linear USDC Perpetuals Spec Update On Tuesday, 18 August 2026 after 9:00 UTC, Deribit will update the contract specifications for Linear USDC perpetuals across both on-screen order books and block trades. These updates include changes to tick size, contract size, and minimum order size across supported Linear USDC perpetual markets. The goal of these changes is to improve tradability and support deeper participation in these markets. After the update goes live, any new orders submitted with non-conforming tick sizes, contract sizes, or minimum order sizes will be rejected. Because the parameter changes are reductions, orders that conform to the current specifications will also conform to the new specifications automatically. Existing positions will not be affected, but traders should still update their systems promptly to align with the new contract specs going forward. For more details, click here. Deribit. Always Open.
We have updated the Exchange Membership Terms and the Exchange Rulebook for Deribit FZE ("Deribit"). These updates reflect: (i) administrative revisions and reorganisation to improve overall readability, including corrections to definitions and clause references; (ii) the inclusion of rights for Deribit to a) make valid information requests; b) take certain actions with respect to unclaimed property should your account become dormant or inactive; and c) exercise emergency powers in qualifying circumstances; (iii) a clarification of Deribit’s limited administrative authority, rather than direct control, over virtual assets custodied with third parties; (iv) adjustment to the timeframe for the reporting and publication of block trades; (v) the upcoming launch of real world asset derivative contracts for eligible traders, together with applicable conditions and mechanics; (vi) the addition of brokerage services offered by Deribit, enabling eligible traders to buy and sell virtual assets against fiat or other virtual assets, with Deribit acting as agent to route and execute orders with external trading partners on behalf of its members; (vii) the upcoming introduction of a liquidity support program and auto-deleveraging mechanism. These processes will apply to any member electing to trade new products referred to above, and each mechanism operates sequentially in the existing liquidation waterfall to resolve distressed positions in advance of, and in order to minimise calls on, the insurance fund and socialised loss mechanism. Please review the fully updated Exchange Membership Terms and Exchange Rulebook on our website. The updated versions will come into effect as of 13 August 2026 (the "Effective Date"). You can access the updated versions through the Legal page associated with your account, and the former version of each will remain available for reference on the website for 30 days from the date of this announcement. These updates shall apply to all uses of Deribit's services, including but not limited to use of our website, mobile applications, and any trading activity across our products. By using and/or continuing to use the Exchange beyond the Effective Date, or by taking advantage of the new features outlined above, you acknowledge to have read, understood, and agreed to the updated Exchange Membership Terms and Exchange Rulebook.
🚨 We rebuilt the engine behind Deribit. And it’s live. Our next-generation matching engine is a major upgrade to the core infrastructure behind Deribit by Coinbase; capable of 100,000+ orders per second with sub-millisecond matching. For traders, that means faster execution, deeper liquidity, and greater resilience when activity spikes. For Deribit, it means the headroom to scale our markets and build for what comes next. Same Deribit. A far more powerful engine underneath. Learn more here. Deribit. Always Open.

Changes to Standard Margin Model - Perpetuals and Dated Futures As part of our Coinbase integration, we are updating our Standard Margin Model for Perpetuals and Dated Futures on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 09:00 AM UTC. The key changes are as follows: Scope This update applies to Standard Margin (SM) users trading Perpetuals and Dated Futures only. The Options Margin Methodology remains unchanged. What's Changing: • Instruments will be assigned to one of six tiers, each with its own margin parameters. • Maximum leverage will be 50x, 25x, or 10x, depending on instrument liquidity. • There is an extended range within which maximum leverage is maintained before it begins to taper down. • Minimum leverage for large positions will be 4x or 2x. • A steepness parameter will determine how leverage scales between the maximum and minimum levels as position size grows. • The Maintenance Margin will change to two-thirds of Initial Margin (previously one-half). • The secondary multiplier will be removed. Impact on Your Margins You may notice small differences in your Initial and Maintenance Margin values - both higher and lower - but these are not expected to be significant. You'll be able to view the new methodology in the Position Builder (PB) before it takes effect, giving you the opportunity to see how your positions may be affected and make any adjustments in advance. For full details on the formula and margin parameters, please refer to our Insights article. Deribit. Always Open.

🚨 Rescheduled: Changes to Applied Interest Rates for BTC_USDC & ETH_USDC Options Please note that the planned BTC_USDC and ETH_USDC options interest rate update, scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 09:00 AM UTC, has been postponed. It is now expected to take effect on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 09:00 AM UTC. Thank you for your patience. Deribit. Always Open.
🚨 Upcoming Changes to Applied Interest Rates for BTC_USDC & ETH_USDC Options Effective August 5 2026, we will be applying an interest rate of 0% to the calculation of premiums for BTC_USDC and ETH_USDC options. This is a prospective update to the methodology used for these products. USDC cash balances do not accrue interest, whether held long or short, and the applicable interest rate input for these products will therefore reflect that treatment going forward. As a result of this change, the interest rate component will no longer affect mark prices from the effective time onward, and client risk assessments will be calculated on a consistent and accurate basis. Reminder: Mark Prices are indicative only. They are used solely for the purposes of settlement and PnL calculations and should not be relied upon as a basis for trading decisions. Please note the following details: • Effective Date & Time: Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 09:00 AM UTC • Scope: These adjustments will apply to all users • Changes: - BTC_USDC Options Mark Prices: (Implied) Interest Rate will be set to 0. - ETH_USDC Options Mark Prices: (Implied) Interest Rate will be set to 0. A one-time adjustment to equity may be visible when this update is implemented. This adjustment may have an impact on your equity. Previously, equity would change gradually as contracts approached expiry due to the applied interest rate. Going forward, following this update, with the interest rate set to 0%, the interest rate component will have no further effect on your equity or mark prices for these products. For more information, please refer to this article. Deribit. Always Open.
