There has been applause and emotion as whistleblower Richard Boyle walked from an Adelaide court with no conviction or jail term after exposing unethical debt collection practices at the Australian Taxation Office. He was facing time behind bars after pleading guilty to four criminal charges including disclosing protected information to another entity, making a record of protected information, using a listening device to record a private conversation and recording another person's tax file number. Google's founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for their research project, ‘Backrub’, which later became the Google search engine. Brin and Page were also part of a computer science research team at Stanford University that received funding from Massive Digital Data Systems (MDDS), a program managed for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Agency (NSA) by large intelligence and military contractors. Google acquired Keyhole in 2004, a geospatial data visualization company that built the software called Earthviewer 3D, which gave spies plenty of insight into what was happening around the world and had received funding from the CIA's venture capital arm, In-Q-Tel, and DARPA. Google renamed Earthviewer 3D Google Earth. In-Q-Tel, has invested in several companies that have partnered with Google, including Keyhole (mentioned above), as well as other companies like Palantir. Palantir is a software company that specializes in big data analytics platforms, primarily focused on integrating and analyzing large, complex datasets from various sources, allowing users to discover trends, relationships, and anomalies through powerful data visualization tools; it's often used by government and commercial organizations to make informed decisions based on complex data sets, particularly in areas like security, fraud detection, and operational efficiency. Co-founder Peter Thiel, who also co-founded Paypal, was the first outside investor in Facebook. His investment is what helped Facebook achieve its success. DARPA was working on a project called LifeLog, headed by retired admiral John Marlan Poindexter. LifeLog aimed to compile a massive electronic database of every activity and relationship a person engages in. This was to include credit card purchases, websites visited, the content of telephone calls and e-mails sent and received, scans of faxes and postal mail sent and received, instant messages sent and received, books and magazines read, television and radio selections, physical location recorded via wearable GPS sensors, biomedical data captured through wearable sensors, etc.This appears to align with the objectives of Palantir’s data analytics platforms. It is interesting to note that Peter Thiel, met with the head of LifeLog, John Poindexter, in 2003. DARPA's LifeLog project was shut down on February 4th, 2004. Coincidentally On February 4, 2004, the same day Lifelog was officially shut down, Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his dorm room at Harvard University. Despite warnings from protective parents—often mothers—courts frequently prioritise shared parenting or dismiss abuse allegations as “parental alienation,” placing children in mortal danger. In the US, a 2016 George Washington University study found that in 15% of custody cases involving abuse allegations, courts awarded custody to the alleged abuser, often dismissing mothers’ concerns as vindictive. In the UK, the 2021 Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s report noted that mothers fear losing custody when reporting abuse, silencing them and endangering children. Australia’s family courts have faced scrutiny for similar issues, as seen in Luke Batty’s case. New Zealand’s high child homicide rate (7th in OECD) reflects systemic gaps, with courts sometimes prioritising fathers’ rights over safety. Below is an extensive list of named children killed by their fathers during or following family court-ordered contact, illustrating the devastating consequences of judicial oversights. These cases, demand urgent reform to prioritise child safety. 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁-𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮, 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 (2025, Washington State): These three young girls were found dead, zip-tied with plastic bags over their heads, murdered by their father, Travis Decker, during court-ordered visitation. Despite warnings from their mother, the court granted unsupervised access. 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗰 (2011, California): Seven-year-old Amie was murdered by her father during court-ordered visitation, despite her mother’s repeated warnings about his violent behaviour. The court prioritised shared parenting, ignoring evidence of domestic abuse. 𝗪𝘆𝗮𝘁𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮 (2010, Twin Peaks, CA): Nine-month-old Wyatt was murdered by his father, Stephen Garcia, during court-ordered contact, followed by Stephen’s suicide. The court allowed contact despite concerns about Stephen’s mental health. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗰𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗱 (2012, Maryland): Fifteen-month-old Prince was killed by his father during unsupervised visitation. The court ignored the mother’s warnings about his violent history. 𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗼 (2018, Philadelphia, PA): Seven-year-old Kayden was murdered by her father during court-ordered visitation, despite abuse allegations. Her death prompted “Kayden’s Law” to enhance child protections, but yet nothing has changed, judges are still sending kids to die. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼 (2021, US): Six-year-old Corey was killed by his father during court-ordered contact, despite behavioural concerns. 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴 (2009, Illinois): These brothers were killed by their father, Michael Connolly, during court-ordered contact. Their mother, Amy, fought to protect them, but the court ignored her pleas. 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗿. (2017, South Pasadena, CA): Five-year-old Aramazd, known as “Piqui,” was murdered by his father during a custody battle, leading to “Piqui’s Law”. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮 (2020, Long Island, NY): Eight-year-old Thomas was killed by his father, Michael Valva, who forced him to sleep in a freezing garage, causing hypothermia. The court granted custody despite the mother’s abuse allegations.
