  • Heb 7:11-13 If everybody could be perfect by what Levi and animals did then there would have been no need for a change priesthood…but because the priesthood had changed the law had to change…what law? The law of Moses! Heb 7:14-16 This new priesthood is made after an endless life that is why what came out of his death and resurrection was everlasting life… Heb 7:16-23,24 Jesus' priesthood is forever and will never change, so whatever he provides is also forever… Heb 9:24 Jesus is our highpriest in heaven on our behalf and for our benefit…he appeared in the presence of God for us… Jesus is that blood that was poured on the mercy seat… Heb 10:1-8 Observe that those sacrifices of the Old Testament could never make them perfect… Notice that God had no pleasure in all the sacrifices they were offering every year in the Old Testament…hence it could never take away sin and could never make them perfect… Heb 10:9-14 But by the offering of Jesus we have been perfected forever… Why couldn't the blood of those animals make them perfect? Because it was the blood of a dead animal! Jesus resurrected from the dead, hence giving an endless life able to perfect us… Heb 7:25,26 He is able to save to the "uttermost" meaning forever; completely, perfectly, finally, for all time and eternity… Heb 9:26-28 Once in the end of the world had he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself… So what took away sin was the sacrifice of himself(Jesus)... How does forgiveness of sin come in the New Testament? By the offering of Jesus! Any sin that happens after the death of Jesus has already been taken care of by Jesus' death, once and for all… God will therefore never see sin in the life of any believer because of the sacrifice of Jesus… Because of Jesus' sacrifice Sin can never stand between God and the Believer anymore… Anyone who believes the Gospel receives the forgiveness of sins…. Acts 26:18, Acts 10:43, Once you believe you receive the forgiveness of sins…so forgiveness of sins is received by faith in Christ Jesus… We no longer have a role to play in forgiveness of sins… Forgiveness of sins therefore is not as a result of confession, prayers or fasting… My faith in Christ declares me righteous today, tomorrow and forever…so we are in an eternal union with God forever… If any man sin, we have an advocate; Jesus the Mediator, Jesus the Advocate… Glory to God!!!

  • SOTERIA SEASON 10 (Part 3) MONDAY EVENING SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: The Doctrine of Sin THEME: 30 Days of Glory DATE: 3rd July 2023 2 Tim 3:15,16 Yesterday we laid a foundation following Brother Paul's message to brother Timothy…"that from a child you have known the Holy Scriptures, which means Timothy had devoted himself to the study of the scriptures and now has developed skillfulness unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus"… Luke 24:25-27 We began here by saying Jesus gave authenticity to the use of the scriptures… Luke 24:44-46 What things did he give authenticity about? The scripture of Moses, the words of the prophets and the things in psalms conserving himself… We had said that the sufferings of Christ and the Glory that should follow are what the scriptures were about and so we can say "the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow" is similar in fact to "salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus"… Therefore, the entire books are tied together by this singular fact… Let's look at the next phrase "given by inspiration of God"...which is the compound word "theopneustos"...comprising of "Theo" and "Pneustos"... "Pneustos" is where we have the word "pneuma" and should be taken from the word "pneo" which refers to an activity on someone else or something else… When we say "pneo" it means that that spirit is now active on something or someone… To know a book that is inspired of God, you will find salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus… The inspiration of God is salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus…it is what describes the inspiration of scriptures… Our study of scripture must be situated around salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus… The Bible is primarily a book of salvation and not history… In the previous teaching we saw the forgiveness of sin before the law, under the law and in the Epistles… We also said the Cross of Jesus changed the entire dynamics of life before and after the cross… Matt 26:28 "Which is shed for many for the remission of sins"…so for there to be a New Testament it means the one that was in force has been put away… How is the remission of sins going to be done? By the shedding of his blood… The shedding of the blood is not literal because there were several instances where the blood of Jesus spilled from his body before he died and yet people were not saved by it… So where was sin paid for? Gen 2:16-17 "For In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"…so until the sin of Adam heaven and Earth were the same and without distance…so sin created a wedge between God and Man… What then does it mean to shed or sprinkle blood? Note that firstly this was the act of the High Priest in the Old Testament… Lev 16:15 Notice the High Priest will take the blood of the animal that has been killed into the Holy of Holies and sprinkle it before and on the mercy seat… Lev 16:16,17 Notice also that the High Priest takes the blood alone and sprinkles it alone… Lev 17:11 "For the life of all flesh is in the blood"…So blood signifies life in Bible language… So where did Jesus shed the Blood… The mercy seat in the Old Testament was to symbolize heaven….it symbolized the throne of Grace… Heb 8:5 It served as a shadow of heavenly things…so the earthly tabernacle of Levi was to typify the tabernacle of heaven…hence Moses built it according to pattern… So Jesus was that animal on the cross…but where was the blood taken to? In the Old Testament the animal blood sitting on the mercy seat gave them mercy for one year… Heb 9:22-24 It was necessary that the pattern of things in the heaven should be purified with better(permanent) things... Jesus is entered into heaven…he never entered Moses' temple… So Jesus himself was the blood and his appearance in heaven was the blood taken into the mercy seat as typified in the Old Testament…. So the "blood" typified Jesus and the "mercy seat" typified heaven… Heb 3:1 Jesus is the high priest of our profession…

  • Acts 13:39 The moment you believe, you are justified from all things from which you couldn't have been justified under the law of Moses… Acts 26:15,16,17 What was recieved? Forgiveness of sins… Romans 4:7,8 Where was sin charged? In the Old Testament…so blessed is the man in whom the Lord will not charge sin… 2 Cor 5:19 God was in Christ reconciling the world…so not just the Church but the entire world…therefore God is not charging the world for sin… 2 Cor 5:19 If God is the one reconciling the world to himself and not charging anyone for sins, then God is not holding the world responsible for sins anymore… So the Cross of Jesus was the game changer… Heb 8:6-13 For finding fault with them…so the old covenant was a fault finder… The Old Covenant was about you do I do, you don't do I don't do and the New covenant is about I will, I will, I will, I will and all you need to do is to respond to what I have done… Heb 8:13, Heb 10:9 The New Covenant or Testament is not a continuation of the old covenant…it's a brand new covenant… Col 1:14 Forgiveness of sins is tied to Jesus…tied to the blood of Jesus… Col 2:13 "Having forgiven"…so this refers to the future, past and present… Heb 9:12 To set us free once and for all…that is "eternal redemption"... Heb 9:26 How did he(Jesus) put away sin? By the sacrifice of himself… Heb 10:10,11 No matter how many animals they kept or sacrificed under the old testament they could never be free from sin… Heb 10:12 Why did he sit down? Because there's no more sin to forgive…he forgave us all our sins once and for all by that one perfect sacrifice… 1 John 2:1-2 He didn't say If any man sin let him pray or fast…he said we have an advocate with the father; Jesus! So there is a huge difference between the old and new covenant… Matt 26:28 This is my blood of the New Testament which is shed…so the New Testament is the blood of Jesus… I have eternal forgiveness in Christ Jesus…I am forgiven not because I confessed, cried, prayed or fasted…I am forgiven because of the gift of his grace…hence there is therefore now no condemnation because I have passed from condemnation to eternal justification… Glory to God!!!

  • SOTERIA SEASON 10 (Part 2) SUNDAY 2ND SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: The Doctrine of Sin THEME: 30 Days of Glory DATE: 2nd July 2023 2 Tim 3:15,16 So brother Paul tells brother Timothy, from a spiritual infant(Brephos) you have devoted yourself to the Holy Scriptures and now you have come to a place of appreciation and value… "All scripture" is the word "pas graphe"… The word all(pas) refers to all the writings… Notice he uses "grammar" in verse 15 and "graphe" in verse 16… The grammar is the content while the graphe is the art of writing…Therefore verse 15 deals with the content of the writings(grammar) and verse 16 deals with the art of writing(graphe) and how it came about… So He tells brother Timothy in verse 15, you have known the Holy Scriptures; the content, the grammar, the phrases or the words which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus… Then in verse 16 he says all scripture(graphe); the art of writing, is given by inspiration of God… Remember we said that all things are truly stated in the Bible but not all things are a statement of truth… God did not inspire Adam and Eve to fall but God Inspired Moses to write it…just as God did not inspire Cain to kill Abel but Inspired Moses to document it… When you see the word "all", know that it is specific…it refers to segregated writings of salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus…so then all these things were given by the inspiration of God… Romans 15:3,4 Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning… In the writings of Moses you will find two things; Accusations and Christ…therefore in Bible teaching you look for Christ and subtract the accusations… So in the Bible there are things written for our admonition, things written for our learning and then Christ, hence the need to rightly divide the word of truth… Luke 24:25-27 Jesus authenticated the message of the scriptures but his emphasis was different from that of the Pharisees or Sadducees…that's why he expounded on the things concerning himself… Luke 24:44 Jesus went through all the books and pointed to them the similar facts which ties the books of the Bible together as one…which is Christ. 1 Peter 1:12 What ties the scriptures together are the sufferings of Christ and the Glory that should follow… 1 Peter 5:1 The message of the Scriptures is about the sufferings of Christ and the Glory that should follow… Earlier today we began looking at the forgiveness of sins… Romans 5:12 We said by one man sin entered the world…not by Satan…Man produced sin and that sin produced death and so for that all have sinned… Man therefore is the architect of all his problems…God's part however is to rescue man from all his maladies… Heb 2:14 That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death which is the devil…so Satan had the power of death…hence, anywhere you saw death in the old testament the devil was responsible… Why does God forgive sin, how does he forgive and when does he forgive? Isaiah 1:18,19 If you be willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land…this is what needs to happen under the law in order for your sins to be pardoned… Matt 6:12 Forgive us our sins… In the Old Testament you do I do, you don't do I don't…that was God's disposition… Mark 11:26 This sounds like the conditions for forgiveness which were under the law in the Old Testament… Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were extensions of the Old Testament… Remission of sins is the same thing as to set free from sins or to clear the account of sins… Acts 10:40 Jesus went about doing good as a proof of his resurrection… Acts 10:42,43 Whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins…note that this was after the resurrection… Acts 13:38-39 Through this man is preached the forgiveness of sins…so forgiveness of sins is the message… The moment you hear the message of the Gospel you receive it…the message of forgiveness therefore is meant to be received…it's a response to what Jesus has offered…

  • Note that sin is primarily against God…that is why it is only God that judges sin…so invariably no sinner can judge sin. The only person that can judge sin is the sinless, which means only God can judge sin… Gen 18:25 Shall not the judge of all the Earth do right… Heb 12:23 The Bible calls God the judge of all… So what happens when you offend someone and he doesn't want to forgive you? Psalm 51:1-6 Against thee and thee only have I sinned… Do we escape liability when we offend one another? No! We only know sin or good by what God calls it… If sin is primarily from God then I need to know from God what sin is… Romans 3:6 God is the one who judges people and not man… God's judgement is what we are to judge with…and not the other way around… Romans 5:12,13 Until the law, sin was in the world but sin is not imputed when there is no law…remember when he says the law he refers to Moses and Mount Sinai… Sin was in the world even before the law came…but it wasn't charged to anyone's account… In Noah's time people were destroyed by a flood…but what did they actually do? Gen 6:2-6 Nothing here particularly points out what they did…but remember there was no sin at this time because there was no law…so no one was held to account… Gen 18:16-18, 19-24 On what basis is Abraham talking to God? Imagine him telling God to pardon people while he also is a sinner… Gen 15:7 Abraham was one who believed in God and so was righteous…so righteousness is imputed into one who believes the word of God… Heb 11:4 Abel also believed the word of God and was righteous… Who was righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah? A people who will offer a sacrifice for their sins… So righteousness in the days of Abel or Abraham was not necessarily that they didn't do wrong but that they believed in God… In Genesis the reason why God forgives sin is not distinct because sin was not charged to anyone's account… How did God forgive sin before the law was given? Through Sacrifice which indicated they believed the word of God… So how did God forgive sins under the law? Exodus 23:21, Exodus 32:30-35, Lev 4,5,6 Under the law forgiveness was conditional based on certain things they had to do… Lev 19:19 So under the law, having a farm with maze and yam at the same time is a sin… Lev 19:20-22 He was supposed to bring an offering and based on that offering his sin will be forgiven… Numbers 15:23,24 He was also supposed to bring an offering, and based on that God will pardon… Duet 29:18,19,20,21, 2 Chronicles 6:20-26 There was always something they were demanded to do before their sins were pardoned… 2 Chronicles 6:34-39, 2 Chronicles 7:14 So they will pray, they will turn then God will forgive… So before the law there were no conditions but under the law there were conditions…before they law they only needed to believe by offering a sacrifice…but under the law they needed to pray and turn from their wicked ways before God would pardon them… I receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness…therefore I reign over sin, sickness and Satan… The gift of righteousness gives you boldness before God and makes you a master over Satan, sickness and disease…. Righteousness is the gift of God's grace which was made available because of the cross… Glory to God!!!

  • SOTERIA SEASON 10 (Part 1) SUNDAY 1ST SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: The Doctrine of Sin THEME: 30 Days of Glory DATE: 2nd July 2023 2 Tim 3:15,16 The term "from a child" there could connote two things…either this is a baby or infant that just came out of the womb as the word implies or this refers to a Spiritual Infant, what we may call a New Convert…but which is it? The word child there is the word "Brephos"... The word "Napios" is what you use for a child and infant or someone that is innocent…so the word "Brephos" is different from the word "Nepios"… Luke 1:41,44 Take note of the word "babe".. Luke 2:12 The use of the word babe is Luke's phraseology… Luke 2:16, Luke 18:15 So far that word is used for a new born child… Acts 7:19 The word babe… 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn "babes" there is the word "Brephos"…so it's absolutely impossible that Paul was saying that from an infant or newborn baby from the womb you had known the Holy Scriptures…so the word would rather be "brephos" which refers to a spiritual infant… So what Paul was saying to Timothy was from when you became Born Again you began developing as a spiritual infant, but now you have known the Holy Scriptures… 1 Cor 3:1,2,3 Here Paul is saying the folks in the church in Corinth were babes(Nepios)...their minds were not developed to appreciate spiritual reality… 1 Cor 13:11 The word Nepios… So that word Nepios can be used to refer to a Christian at an undeveloped stage, innocence or a lack of knowledge… 2 Tim 3:15 The word "scripture" there is the word Grammar…which refers to the content of writing or the phrase… So Paul was saying to Timothy the wisdom of scripture is concerning salvation or is salvation…from a spiritual infant you were doggedly committed to studying the holy scriptures, so now you are skillful in the subject of salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus… Therefore, the Old Testament when well applied will produce skillfulness in the subject of salvation…. When the Old Testament is well explained it is no longer a mystery but revelation: the mystery revealed…so it is the revelation of the scripture that produces spiritual growth… Spiritual growth from the Old Testament books therefore is salvation… 2 Peter 1:16 Brother Peter is saying we have not followed an oratory written by professionals or the writing of a movie, we have followed revelation…that is the old testament demystified as revelation… So when you know the revealed scriptures you become an expert in interpreting the scriptures… The Gospel is a Gospel of absolutes and not probability…when you arrive at revealed knowledge you speak authoritatively… 2 Tim 2:14,15 A man that is skillful in the subject of salvation must be able to rightly divide the word of truth… Spiritual growth is a status and not the destination… So Paul tells Timothy you must continue in the same truth that got you saved… Let's look at Forgiveness of Sin and Repentance from Sin… Sin is the only problem humanity has that has no cure within humanity… Romans 5:12 By one man sin entered into the world, not by Satan…so man is the architect of his problem… God created a world free from sin and death but man which he created brought sin and death into the world… What is forgiveness of sins? 1 John 1:9 Most often we tend to interpret bible words as English words just because they are written in English…but that is not correct… The Bible has an interpretation of its own…you just need to study patiently and diligently to arrive at what the Bible is saying… Eph 1:7 We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his glory… Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins…so there is forgiveness of sins in the Bible… Everybody knows God forgives…but why does he forgive sins, how does he forgive sins and when does he forgive sins? Why do I need to know that God forgives sins? Because it will help me have a better relationship with God!

  • So in the Epistles prayers were basically for boldness, utterance and Ministry and not things… Let's look at what it means to groan in the Spirit… John 11:33,34 He groaned in the spirit and was troubled…that word groaned means to express a displeasure… John 11:35 That groaning was expressed in tears… Jesus felt the same pain the people under pain where feeling…this happens when you pray for people…you can actually feel their burden… So there are burdens in the place of prayer… Romans 8:26-27 Take note of the words "groanings" "which can not be uttered"…"infirmities" & "supplications"... Note that in groanings, emotions back the expressions experienced in prayer…thats your spirit identifying with circumstances and supplicating to create solutions… Our infirmities refer to a discomfort experienced in praying due to the limitation of this mortal body…so the groanings is an expression of that fact that I am in a limited situation in the natural…but eventually I express myself further as I continue praying in the Spirit… If you love to talk to men about God then you must love to talk to God about men… Stay away from strife and stay in prayer… Prayer can be stored up…so no prayer is ever wasted… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 2ND SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 25th June 2023 JAMES 1:5,6,7,8 Brother James highlights that the major reason why a man will not receive in prayer is because he is double minded… We said Prayer is not trying to inform God about your needs, because God already knows what you need before you ask him, and also prayer is not trying to persuade God because God is a responsible Father and a responsible Father makes available the needs of his Children… Eph 6:18 All manner of prayer has to be prayed in the Spirit… We had said that the prayer of supplication is the word "desis", and the primary term for this kind of prayer as stated in the Epistles is to give a petition, strongly worded petition or heartfelt petition… If I'm going to pray a heartfelt prayer it will have to be in the Spirit(in tongues)... Matt 15:18 What defiles a man proceeds from the mouth but originates from the heart… Matt 12:34 Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh… So I must make deposits in my heart in order for me to make heartfelt prayers…how? I plant the things I want to pray about by words… Rev 2:14,15 Material success is not success with God…so in the material world you don't need God to succeed…you just need to be in the right environment, around the right people and understudy how the physical world operates to have the success of the world…moreover it's possible to have money and not have God… Take heed what you hear and take heed how you hear, because what you hear resides in your heart, and remember what comes out of your mouth is as a result of the deposits in your heart… 2 Tim 2:24 Many prayers are borne out of bitterness, strife and envy…this out not so to be… Matt 5:44,45 Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for those who despitefully use you…why? That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven… All the child of God has is a life giving Spirit, so a child of God can not do otherwise… Guard your heart from anything that will inject fear into you… James 5:15,16 Tongues are words from our Spirit, and when we speak in Tongues we make tremendous power available that is dynamic in its workings… 2 Peter 1:3,4 He has called us to power and Glory, so when we are praying we are praying from a position of strength and might… Eph 3:15-20 When we pray the Pauline prayers we are praying answers; speaking the end results and declaring the answers… The believer is not looking for answers to prayers, he already has answers, all he does In prayer is to enable the answers by declaring and taking hold of it… The power of the spirit that we have in us is the ability to achieve… For the believer prayers are actually answers…it's a declaration of what God has already done in us… Romans 15:30 We determine the answers…so we pray to receive the answers that are already waiting by praying out the answers…we enable them by making power available and taking delivery of what we have enabled… Prayer power is my spirit power…anytime I am praying it is my spirit producing power… When praying in the spirit concerning a matter you will know when the matter has been addressed, because you will feel it when that burden has been lifted…at that moment know that you had generated the amount of power sufficient to deal with that issue… Prayer can rearrange circumstances…. Mark 11:22-24 Pray, believe, receive and then have… Luke 22:31 The prayer here was about circumstances and not things…Jesus prayed that Peter's faith failed not and not that Satan should not come…eventually he was delivered and then he restored others…that is a prayer of supplication… Eph 6:19, Col 4:2, Romans 15:30,31, 2 Thess 3:2 When praying for men of God it's important to pray for them to have boldness, that they be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men and that a door of utterance be opened unto them… Acts 4:30,31 They spoke the word with boldness…

  • So the answer to the problem in 2 Cor 4:3-5 is in 2 Cor 10:4… As we preach the Gospel mindsets and thought patterns are subjected to the word and eventually reset… The word of God in the mouth of man is the greatest weapon on the Earth…so you speak the word… 1 Tim 2:4,5,6,7 To bring to pass that desire of God which is "to have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" will only be achieved or done by preaching the word… Why is a man not saved? Because he is blinded and reasoning against the Gospel…so what do we do? We keep preaching the Gospel in order to pull down strongholds… The work of the Spirit is to woo people when we preach…so no one comes to faith except God appeals to him…that's why the Gospel should be Good News… Romans 10:14,15,16,17 They have to believe to be saved, but before they believe they have to hear…so faith cometh by hearing… So if a man must hear to believe in order to be saved then if I must pray I must pray for the preacher because the preacher can be hindered from preaching the Gospel which is supposed to get a man saved… So If you want to see the move of God in any place you pray for the preachers… Matt 9:37 The word "pray" there is the word supplicate… The move of God is men swinging into action via our prayers… So you can't be living in a community or compound with so many people and yet you are not shining your light… Some would say I am not able…well all you need is to be available and God will make you able… We are God's transformative agents to reach our world… So if the Gospel is not growing in a place, Pray for Men to be pushed out…and if there are no sufficient men available to preach the Gospel, pray for more laborers to be sent to the field… So how do you pray for your Pastor? 2 Thess 3:1,2 Verse 1 refers to deliverance from men…so as long as a Minister is alive and preserved the word of the Lord will have free course… Phil 1:19 When men are preserved and they have boldness the word will have a free course… Heb 13:8,9 Pray for the preacher that he preaches a message that will establish the hearer with grace… Romans 15:30,31 Pray for preachers that they be delivered from men that do not believe… So when praying for souls to be saved and the move of God, pray for the preacher and his family to be preserved… Every member of a church must be seen to be in a place of defense for his Pastor… The most important person to pray for is your pastor and his ministry… Brother Paul was prayed for and his ministry ended up affecting so many generations afterwards including ours… When you preserve the life of your Pastor by prayer, you have preserved revelation… Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith failed not, and he was converted and he strengthened others…. Steven was killed, James was killed but as Peter was also taken to be killed, people gathered to pray without ceasing…and while they were at it Angels swung into action, opened the prison and delivered him… I give myself to prayer and supplication, and because of my prayer there shall be a steady supply of the spirit in our ministry for men to be saved…because of my prayer there shall be a steady supply of the spirit for my man of God so that the Gospel in his mouth shall not be resisted… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 2ND SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 18th June 2023 James 1:5-8 James wants us to firstly see God as a giver and secondly as a God who doesn't find fault…a God that gives without conditions… He also wants us to know that everything we would ever need in this life, God already prepared it ahead of time… Mark 11:24 So when we pray, we pray to receive when it has to do with things… We said when it has to do with prayer and circumstances or situations, we rather pray for people because circumstances and situations are created by men… We also looked into prayer for supplication…We said that the prayers in the Epistles are mostly prayers of supplication… The "prayer of supplication" is the word "deesis" meaning a fixed petition…in this prayer you speak like a lawyer, it's like you are arguing a case…stating why it must happen… So when we supplicate it applies to circumstances or situations which involve the authority of men…in this prayer men will have to accept what we want, either by their cooperation, acceptance or action… Remember we said God never gave you authority over man's will…that is why you persist in prayer until you see your desired petition… Phil 4:6 In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your request known unto God…the life of the believer is a life of Thanksgiving… The word request and supplication means the same thing…so the word supplication itself is actually prayer… 1 Tim 2:1 The word first of all there refers to order…he is actually still teaching supplication… The word "prayers" in that particular context is the word "proseuche"…the meaning of prayer here is different from that of supplication…this one actually means entering to pray or to desire to pray… Intercession there is the work of Christ alone and not man… Heb 7:25 He ever liveth to make intercession…so intercession is the work of Christ… 1 Tim 4:5 Intercession is not prayer, it is the work of Christ where man's sins are concerned…hence supplication and intercession are two highly different things… So what Paul was doing in 1 Tim 2:1 was describing supplication, but what Jesus did as the highpriest in salvation was intercession… Romans 8:34 He also maketh intercession for us…so intercession is not prayer, it is the work of Christ… 1 Tim 2:1-5 The mediator between God and men is Christ…that word mediator is also the same word for intercessor…intersession means to ask for pardon on behalf of someone… Heb 7:25, Heb 11:2, Romans 8:34, Romans 8:26,27 The use of the word intercession… There are no intercessors amongst men…Jesus is the only intercessor and so in prayer the spirit intercedes on our behalf… 2 Cor 5:19 To with that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation… So Jesus couldn't have been the one reconciling us and then asking us to intercede for people… In the place of prayer we make a petition or supplicate for one another… Intercession is the work of the highpriest or the mediator… Supplication can be made for all men including believers… In supplication we never give up nor stop…we never stop praying…we make a case in all situations… 2 Cor 4:4 Supplication is intelligent praying… 2 Cor 10:4,5 How does God get people saved? Definitely not by getting comedians to entertain the goats as Charles Spurgeon would say… You will never find comedy as a calling in the Bible… Just like brother Paul will say, we did not come to you with enticing words of mens wisdom but in the demonstration of power… My story is not the Gospel, the Gospel is fact sensitive…the Gospel must be about the death, burial and resurrection of Christ… So salvation is based on the message of Christ and not based on emotions… In 2 Cor 3-5, that warfare refers to the preaching of the Gospel…it is through preaching we cast down imaginations and bring every thought under the subjection of Christ… Strongholds therefore are in the mind…

  • When Jesus was talking to Peter he said "Simon Simon Satan has desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat, but I have prayed that your faith fail not"...notice he didn't pray that Satan may not come but that his faith fail not…why? You resist the devil and he shall flee…so Peter could handle it… When you talk about supplication things change… Luke 3:21 Jesus was praying while being baptized…what could he possibly have been praying about, seeing that the essence of the baptism was for the Holy Spirit to come upon him and to identify him… Did the Holy Spirit come on Jesus without him receiving? Jesus was praying to "receive" the Holy Spirit! Luke 5:16 He withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed…so Jesus was always praying… Jesus, who is God that became a man, was always praying…it means prayer goes beyond requesting…it is a fellowship between the Father and the Son… There is a joy and confidence that exudes as a result of an effectual prayer in knowledge…fear and doubt disappears… Luke 6:12 Jesus continued all night in prayer to God…he was in fellowship… John 11:33 Jesus groaned in the spirit and was troubled…that is he responded to the situation from his Spirit…which means he was praying in the Spirit… John 11:41 He thanked the father that he had heard him…so when did he pray that he was sure the father had heard him? In John 11:33! So there is fellowship in prayer, thanksgiving in prayer and making a request in prayer… Eph 6:18 "All prayer" there refers to "all manner of prayers"… You continue in prayer till you have the manifestation…that is supplication which also means persisting in faith… There is a continued emphasis when praying a prayer of supplication… Notice that most prayers in the Epistles are prayers of supplication and not for things… Phil 4:6 This is the closest prayer related to things in the Epistles…so the Epistles concentrate more on supplication… James 5:16(AMP) The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working)... When you are in supplication your entire heart and emotions will be consumed by your desire…this kind of prayer must be deliberate and intentional… Gen 32:24,25,26,27,28 This is the kind of resilience required in supplication…"I will not let thee go, except thou bless me'... Jacob prevailed with men because he had power/authority with God… The word prevail is to persist or contend…it is to persevere in the place of prayer…and a key element of someone in faith is perseverance… People that give up easily hardly fulfill the plan of God for their life…you must be dodged, rugged and persistent in the place of prayer… Victory is not for lazy people… Life is full of challenges but the presence of a challenge is not the absence of faith… Life is for those who are persuaded about something and ready to see it through to the end… The fact that you have many challenges or many opposing forces doesn't mean you are out of the will of God…as a matter of fact they begin once you are in the will of God… Persistence in faith can be likened to being stubborn…winners don't quit and quitters can never win… Eph 1:16-23, Eph 3:14-21, Phil 1:9-11, Col 1:9-11 These are prayers of supplication…in fact all of the Pauline prayers were prayers of supplication… Phil 1:19, Acts 1:14 Prayers of supplication… Note that When Jesus said "you shall receive power", the recieve there is an active word… To receive is to "lambano" which means to seize or to catch something and make it yours… Once you come to a point in your life when you know and conclude that no man can help you except God, then you will pray as if your life depends on it… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 1ST SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 18th June 2023 James 1:5,6 If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of "the Giving God"...brother James wants us to note this important character of God… We are solving issues around the myth people refer to as "unanswered prayers"... Dr. K. C. Price said prayer can be intelligently done; you can know how you want to pray, why you want to pray and can predict where the answers will come from… Remember James says God is liberal, good and gives to all men without finding fault…so the character of God should never be an issue where prayer is concerned… In prayer you don't just pray, another vital component is to receive… We had said God never denies us his attention when we pray…and remember Christianity is the only faith where the worshipped (God) lives inside of the worshipper (us)…that means we have his 100% attention… In the Old Testament they had to enter his gates and with thanksgiving because he never lived in them…. Prayer we said is not trying to convince God, inform him or educate him… Matt 6:8 Our Father knoweth what things we have need of before we even asked…so prayer cannot be trying to inform or convince God… 1 John 5:14 The will of God is that he heareth us…so this is the confidence we have…. If we are sure he hears us whenever we pray it therefore means we must be confident of receiving our desired petition… 1 Peter 3:12 Prayer is not seeking the face of God…we always have his person and presence in us and his ears are always opened unto us… We don't come into his presence…we already have his presence, so whenever I pray I am practicing his presence… We know that we have the petition that we desire of him, so prayer is not getting God's attention nor is it coming before God…why? We are in an everlasting relationship with God… James 5:16 James says power is made available when we pray…but he doesn't tell us where that power comes from… Eph 3:20 Paul however, explains where that prayer power comes from…that power worketh in us and is in the believer… Psalm 32:1,2 Abraham enjoyed freedom from condemnation, guilt and guile…so "him being in the presence of God" there had to do with his right standing with God… The audience of prayer therefore is us having a right standing with God… 2 Cor 5:21, Eph 2:4-6 Based on this relationship "I am sorted with Christ" and based on this I make my request…so my identity in Christ affects how I make requests in prayer… Philemon 1:6 That the participation or communication of your faith becomes effectual…when I acknowledge who I am in Christ my faith becomes effectual… So knowing who I am in Christ helps and aids in prayer… What is the principle of faith when I am praying for things? I say, I believe, I receive and then I have…so receiving stands between saying and having…you can't have what you do not receive… Therefore, you have by receiving, receive by believing, and believe by saying what you believed in your heart…so I shall have what I received and what I believed when I prayed… You also do not pray for joy, because you already have joy in the Holy Ghost…you just go ahead and rejoice… Money on the other hand is not in your spirit…you ask for it… You can't receive a marital partner because they are not things… Remember you only have what you received when you believe in what you said, but this has to do with only prayer for things… There is no money in heaven…money is a product of man and an earthly medium of exchange in trade and commerce when it has to do with goods and services… A woman or man in marriage is not a thing that you believe and receive in prayer… Let's look at prayer and situations or circumstances… Men make situations or circumstances happen…so my prayer should be streamlined to men who cause those situations…so as I am praying for men I ultimately address situations…that is praying intelligently… Prayer is described as supplication 68 times in the bible…

  • The moment the Believer receives Salvation all the power that raised Christ from the dead is deposited in that believer… So God almighty will only do exceeding abundantly above through the power which he had given you, which is that same power at work in you… The believer that is ignorant and the believer who is full of knowledge and is not praying are the same…both have no power at work to them… A believer who may not know much, but knows as little as the character of God and that he generates power whenever he prays will alter circumstances in his life… God's power is not resident in heaven but in your heart and in your mouth… Psalm 103:20 The strength that the Angels excelled in is with the believer…so Angels derive power from the Believer…if the believer is not generating power in prayer he renders the Angels powerless…. As a child of God, God has placed Angels at your disposal however, they will only excel through the power you generate…so when I speak the Angels have power to act… Heb 2:6 Angels require power from man to excel because man controls the earth… So God's intervention on the earth is with man, the answer to prayers is with man, and the power to change things, circumstances and situations on the earth is with man… Daniel 10:12,13, Matt 26:53 Prayer power is in your spirit and therefore in the earth…so the power to make things happen is resident in you all the time… Prayer generates power that backs the words you speak…and when you speak words, those words contain, convey and direct the power at work in you to your intended destination… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 2ND SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 11th June 2023 JAMES 1:5,6 We had said prayer is not informing, schooling or convincing God… Your heavenly father knows that you have need of these things and has already provided them… That is why James says he is the giving God that gives to all men liberally and does not find fault… In the first service we saw the prayers that can not be prayed using the name of Jesus… In this service we want to look at where our prayer derive its power from... We had said if you must pray intelligently Instead of praying for a move of God, rather pray for those in charge or responsible for that move of God… There is nothing like praying for a good marriage, you should rather pray for the man and the woman in that marriage, knowing once they agree that marriage will be successful… So you don't pray that God will move in a local church, you rather pray for the leaders in that local assembly that the move of God will be facilitated through them…. Nothing will happen in any local church outside the leadership of that local assembly… You can not change a Church from the bottom…it must be initiated from the top….from the leadership of the Church…So you must know those who can make the move of God happen within any local assembly… In dealing with circumstances in prayer you must know who the right person to deal with is… A church can never receive revelation knowledge beyond their pastor… In prayer you must know that things happen on the earth based on man's will… God respects human will…so prayer does not manipulate people or force them… James 5:16 Notice It is by prayer or in praying that "it"(prayer) will avail much… James 5:16 This is the only place a believer is asked to confess...so believers are only asked to confess one to another… The word availeth much is "makes tremendous power available"... The prayer of a Righteous Man that is heartfelt is what makes the prayer avail much…. Heaven is controlled from the Earth…remember whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth is loose in heaven… Eph 1:17,18,19,20 Remember we said that the giving of the spirit is at salvation and so this does not refer to another spirit… What is the "exceeding greatness"...remember we also said when you see adjectives in the scriptures the writer wants you to see the object beyond just words… The words "exceeding greatness of his power" refers to the power that is mighty, exceeding and is great… Eph 1:22,23 Towards every child of God is the exceeding greatness of his power… Eph 3:15,16-19,20 God will only do exceeding abundantly according to the power that worketh in you…so the power is already inside you… Therefore, what he is saying is that the ability to answer the prayer of the believer is at work in the believer… Which means the ability of prayer is within the earth… Eph 6:18, Eph 6:10, Eph 3:15 The strength is by his Spirit in the inner man…so being strong in the Lord is to be strong in his Spirit in the power of his might… So in praying I am being strong in the Lord and in the power of his might….That is in prayer you are making that power in you available to accomplish a task… The saying "a prayerless believer is a powerless one" means that that believer is not making power available to navigate his life according to the plan and purpose of God… In prayer we exercise authority because we have actual power… Prayer is the power that backs authority… Eph 3:20 Prayer power is the Believer's power…prayer unleashes the power in you to make things happen in your world… Power is not available because you know but because you prayed… Power will not work till you pray…so when you pray, say… Because the power is already in you, when YOU PRAY, YOU BELIEVE that YOU RECEIVE and YOU WILL HAVE what you say… So when you generate tremendous power in the place of prayer everywhere you enter things happen….

  • "If any lack wisdom let him ask"…this means God's response to prayer is his character…that character is good and perfect… So James wants you to see that God's intention to give is good and his gifts are perfect and complete…you must therefore see God as all giving…one who gives all the time and never finds fault… God does not shift grounds or change his mind…he is consistent in his character…he is faithful…that's who he is… God is not faithful to you because you are the one involved, he is faithful to you in your life's experience because that is who he is… James 1:17 So when I ask of God what I get will always be good and perfect gifts… Notice we said "when we ask of God"…because it is possible to pray and be saying nothing, making noise or not relating with God at all… Luke 11:11,12,13,14, Luke 11:9 If it's certain He won't give you a stone for bread or serpent for fish, and whatever you ask is what you receive then it means if there is ever a problem in prayer it will be with receiving… Never think that when you ask God for a microphone and you receive a speaker first it means God knows you don't need a microphone…so you make do with a speaker and abort your request for a microphone…but this is wrong…the right thing should be you receiving the speaker in thanks while waiting for the microphone…because God will not give you a serpent for a fish… Desire is the essence of prayer… We had said that there are different kinds of requests which demand different rules… Prayer and things Prayer and people Prayer and circumstances Prayed and you Eph 6:18 Underlie the word "all prayer"...All prayer there refers to all manner of prayer… So it is possible to have more than one demand or request in the place of prayer… There are things you can not demand for using the name of Jesus… Matt 5:44 Prayer that is not in or inspired out of love can not be in the name of Jesus… When you pray you bless and not curse…if you pray to curse then it can not be in the name of Jesus… Any prayer born out of hatred can also not be in the name of Jesus… Luke 9:54,55,56 They requested that they call down fire from above to consume men, but Jesus rebuked them… So you can never pray in the name of Jesus to destroy…the name of Jesus does not have the capacity to destroy, curse, kill or hate… Romans 12:14-20 God responds to evil with good…so you can't use the name of Jesus to curse, kill or destroy… God is love and light and in him is no darkness at all… Eph 4:31 You can't afford to have bitterness, wrath, anger or evil speaking in your prayer life…because you will only be operating as a native doctor… James 3:10 Blessing and cursing can not be proceeding from the same mouth…it ought not so to be… When you pray with anger, wrath and evil speakings you give place to the devil…allowing him to cause destruction, killing and cursing via the authority in your words… James 3:14,15 Anywhere there is envy, strife, anger and bitterness you will find every other evil work… Remember the devil only brings destruction, death, sickness, confusion, retards people's progress and brings sadness… So when you stay in anger, strife, bitterness and strife you eventually give access to evil spirits when you pray…you make yourself an agency of satanic operations where you partner with the devil to steal, kill and to destroy… To curse is to yield to evil spirits… A prayer in the name of Jesus must reflect the character of Jesus… God is good and every good and every perfect gift cometh down from above, from the father of light with whom there is no variableness nor a shadow of turning… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 1ST SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 11th June 2023 James 1:5,6,7,8 Brother James says that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways…then observe his statement "let not that man think that he shall RECEIVE anything"...so the issue is not with the giving but with receiving… It's vital we look at "honour code" which is an important ingredient for prayer… A lot of believers have challenges in their lives because of honour…because they do not treat sacred what God treats sacred… God treats the following as sacred: Gathering unto him Our worship of him Prayer Teaching of the word When you treat Holy things with levity you short circuit yourself from the blessing… Note that the things God will ask you to treat sacred are things that are imperfect…yet God wants you to treat them with honor and respect… Knowledge can not get away with dishonour… Matt 10:11 Underline "who is worthy" & "if the house be worthy"... Note that the blessing can either be received or not…why? Because dishonour can never receive from God…that's why you find people in a church year in and out and nothing changes in their lives… Remember we are dealing with prayer… Honour will always receive from God… What you do not respect you do not attract…your sense of value determines the virtue that you attract… As a believer when you treat Holy things as common and treat secular things as sacred then something is fundamentally wrong with you… We must honour the gathering of the saints, honour prayer, teaching services and spiritual activities within our local assembly…. It is he that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet that will receive a prophet reward and not the other way round… So we can't afford to be over familiar with the Grace of God… If you are going to receive anything from God you must be in a place of honour… If the issue is with receiving like James highlighted then staying in honour is vital… When you treat the ministry gifts with levity you are treating the death of Jesus with levity… You can last in Ministry if you are not given to honour…you must be a man or woman that understands and is given to a life of honour… Mark 6:1-3,4 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary…and they were offended at him…so overfamiliarity brought dishonour… Jesus said a prophet is not without honour but in his own house…So if you do not stay within the confines of honour you will be offended… Mark 6:5 Jesus couldn't do much in his home land because they were in dishonour and offence… Being in a place of over familiarity and dishonour is a very dangerous place to be…because you will only end up acting… No matter how hard you pray, if you are in dishonour you are only making noise and wasting your time… If the answers to prayers are in the hands of men then it means honouring men is vital…it means your fellowship and interaction with men will determine whether you receive or not… James 1:5 When you are in honour, everything around you looks correct and so you are blessed by them…but the moment you move into a place of familiarity, you start noticing faults and questioning all instructions… When you are in honour you won't have a problem with being asked to sit on a stool outside a building…but once you begin to enter a place of familiarity you start asking why a stool, why am I the one sitting on a stool or why does it have to be outside… James 1:17 James says he is the all giving God who gives to all men…so he uses "giving" to describe God three times in verse 5… Now he says every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, from the Father of light… The word "Gift" there is the word "Dosis" which speaks of the intention behind the giving…so James was saying the intention behind God giving is good… So in the gift you will receive from God you will see his intention in it… The word "Dosis" describes God's motive… When he said "perfect gift", it is the word "Dorema"…which speaks of benevolence…something complete and missing nothing…

  • So your prayer can not impose your will on another man… In marriage you must submit your authority to your spouse in love and in the fear of God…you don't intimidate, manipulate or rule by force, that will be witchcraft… God is not part of the government of this world… Heb 13:17,18 Submit yourselves…not by force but willingly…that is how the kingdom of God functions… When we pray for people, we either woo them in prayer or make circumstances available to them for them to make a decision…but note that despite the prayer they will ultimately still have to make a decision… God can not stop sin but he had already judged it…also, God cannot stop unbelief…if a man must get rid of unbelief, that man must believe… Why do we have so many unanswered prayers today? To have our answers guaranteed we must note: That there is a difference between when I am praying for things and when I am praying for men… That I can't pray for men the way I pray for things… And I can't pray for circumstances within man's authority the way I pray for things… So different rules for different prayers… Note also that when you pray a prayer that involves the will of man, it may take time and it may not be automatic because it involves the will of man… You can't be praying for a job the same way you would pray to cast out demons and evil spirits…because the will of man is involved… You also can't be praying for a wife or husband the way you pray for things because it has to do with the will of a man… When it has to do with money, it can either come by way of gifts, inheritance or via exchange of goods and services…therefore when praying for money you must note that people are involved…so you need to pray for opportunities while developing relevant skills or expertise in order to have what to give in exchange for money… Poverty is man made…it is not caused by some demon from somewhere…some are poor because others have seized opportunities to amass wealth for themselves… Life on earth is dynamic…you must develop, evolve and adapt… So before you pray ensure you have done what you need to do… Note that you also can not pray to stop fear, doubt, unbelief or sin… 2 Cor 4:3-6 If I am praying for people who have not believed, my prayer will be targeted at convincing them to believe; however, remember that before they believe the word will have to be preached unto them first… Eph 6:18 The sword of the Spirit which is the word of God praying…with all prayer and supplication… Before we speak words in prayer we must determine the following: What are we praying about… What are we to pray for concerning what we are praying about… You can not influence men above what they believe… Let's see how Jesus prayed for the Church? Luke 22:31-32 Jesus saw that Satan desired to have him, but he prayed that his faith fail not…notice he didn't pray to rebuke Satan or to stop asatan… So where was the faith of Peter? In his heart and in his mouth! So Peter had the key to stop Satan… Jesus supplicated for him and told him when he is turned back he should strengthen his brethren… Notice Jesus prayed for the leader who was Peter and told him to strengthen others…so we can be intelligent in praying…rather than pray for everyone, focus on the head and those in authority…focus on the shepherd, because once the shepherd is fine, the sheep will be fine… Remember when you pray, you believe that you recieve, and you shall have what you speak… Glory to God!!!

  • SUNDAY 2ND SERVICE (Extract) PREACHING: Dr. Abel Damina TOPIC: Answered Prayers Guaranteed DATE: 4th June 2023 James 1:5,6 James wants you to know that God is a giving God, so ask in faith not wavering, because a double minded man will receive nothing from God… We had established that prayer is establishing one's authority on earth… Authority over what? Gen 1:26-28 God gave man authority over things on the Earth…. Mark 16:17 God also gave man authority over evil spirits… Luke 10:19 The believer has authority over sickness, diseases, demons and devils… Luke 5:15 They came to hear and to be healed…so God's word is God's medicine for your body… The word of God is life to those who find them and health to all their flesh… Luke 5:24,25 He forgave him his sins and healed his body…so when we preach the Gospel we preach the forgiveness of sins and the healing of our bodies… Mark 4:39 "Peace be still"...and there was great calm…so man has authority over situations and circumstances… Notice God gave man authority over all listed above except over the will of another man… Matt 20:20,25 In the secular people rule people, but it is not so in the Kingdom of God… Whosoever will be great among you let him be your minister and whosoever will be chief among you let him be your servant…this is how the kingdom of God operates… There is a clear distinction between how the kingdom of this world runs and how the kingdom of God operates… The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost…The kingdom of God is in Christ…but the world system constitutes earthly authorities where men rule over men… Eph 2:3 There is a spirit at work in the children of this world, and that spirit is the spirit of disobedience… We said in the first service that Jesus and his disciples referred to earthly kings, rulers and governors as the princes of this world and to Satan as the prince of this world… What therefore is the weapon of Satan? The will of man! Satan works through the lusts, emotions and desires of man… Romans 13:1-6 Paul's talks about exercising authority as it has to do with discharging civic responsibilities as a citizen… God doesn't get involved in politics or choosing leaders…neither does he run earthly governments… 1 Sam 8:6,7 Samuel prayed unto the Lord, but God said hearken unto their voice and what they have said…they didn't want God to rule over them, so this was the beginning of human governments… So man ruling over man is God permitting man's will or desires… Matt 22:17,18,19,20,21 They asked God if it is lawful to pay tax…but God distinguishes his kingdom from that of men and says to them if the inscription on their note is Caesar's then they should give to Caesar what is Caesar's… So when a government stands against the Gospel it is a clear example of the princes of this world, principalities and powers in operation…however note that there is a "Prince" behind all the princes of this world; the Devil… Acts 5:18,19,20 The Angel brought them out of prison to go and preach…remember they were taken there in the first place for the sake of the Gospel, and that is what we call persecution… But in the case of John the Baptist he was beheaded because of his foolish act and not because of persecution… As Christians, we pay our taxes for the Government to make available certain basic amenities…A Christian who is arrested for not paying taxes is just being foolish…that is not persecution… God exercises his rule through faith in your heart…so he does not force or compel but appeals to the heart of a man… God's government or kingdom gives you the freedom to choose, but a secular government compels you by force if necessary to do what it wants… In Prayer you do not have authority over another man's will… God appeals to our hearts by wooing us with his goodness…so there is no amount of prayer you pray that can get someone Born Again…your prayer can only arrange circumstances or position things in order for someone to be reached with the Gospel so he can engage his will to either accept the Gospel or not…

  • So let not your heart be troubled, for God is not a man that he should lie, nor is he the son of man that he should repent…if he has said it, then he will bring it to pass…but this he does only within the confines of his will… Glory to God!!!
