Grieve not, my comrade, for the joys now left behind in time, Just mind the wind upon your path, and catch it in its prime. Look up: a star is calling you from distant, open skies, Listen: within the tautened sails, your living dream abides. For all who stand both brave and true, upright through storm and strife, I’ll ring out loud despite the gales, recalling hope and life: That courage beats within the chest, that solid land is near, And happiness lies straight ahead, along the course you steer! @english4y

Meaning: Two friends have a big argument, and one refuses to look at the other at school. Origin: The myth states that in medieval or 19th-century Britain, a host would serve a hot, fresh roast meal to welcome wanted guests. If a guest stayed too long or was unwelcome, the host would supposedly serve them a leftover, cheap cut of cold meat—specifically, a cold shoulder of mutton (sheep)—as a polite but clear hint that it was time to leave. The phrase "giving someone the cold shoulder" first appeared in print in 1816 in the novel The Antiquary by the famous Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. @english4y
