These are copies of essays  that I have written between prelims and mains. 1) These were basically a trial and error method to understand which is the best suitable writing style for me.Thus mark variations could also be seen. 2) Some have subheadings, some have many quotes, Some are anecdotal etc.Try and found out your own way of writing.

  • #essay If you prepare specifically for essays, it is highly rewarding and can help you score well. My strategy: 1) I read many toppers' answer copies and identified those with a writing style similar to mine, which I then adopted. 2) Brainstorming: I brainstormed lot of   toppers' essays, planned and structured it.Fianlly compared it with toppers' copies. 3) Prepare the introduction and conclusion: My introductions were often anecdotal, but there are other methods like poems or conversations. You can develop your own methods and collect ideas from various sources, such as YouTube videos, social media, toppers' notes, answer copies, etc. 4)Write as many essays as possible until you feel comfortable tackling both philosophical and general studies type questions.

  • #mains 1) Ethics, Essays, and Optional subjects should be the core of your preparation,as there is huge mark variation. 2)Unlike prelims, mains is highly predictable. Understanding the syllabus, analyzing past question patterns, and practicing writing for effective time management makes it doable. 3)Achieving good scores requires meeting demand of question , presenting multidimensional perspectives, delivering high-quality content, maintaining legible handwriting, ensuring a decent presentation, and completing the paper on time.

  • Its time to slowly come back to mains preparation as there is less time available this year. Begin with your optional subjects and ethics . There will be some uncomfortable areas in optional. You can focus on them now. Also try collecting good examples and read toppers copy for ethics. For malayalam optional students 1) You can spend this time reading novels which you havent read or not well prepared. 2)I will post some questions (mostly PYQ) until the results are out. Those who are interested can attach their answers.I can correct one answer for each question. Will also give my answer.

  • Prelims is over. Appreciating everyone who has attempted the prelims, I understand how challenging it is to prepare for that day and perform well. Now, with numerous cut-off predictions and speculations circulating, please prioritize your mental health amidst this chaos. Take a 3 to 4 day break—you truly deserve it. For those confident in clearing the prelims: The period between the exam and the result is crucial. The effort you invest during this time will give you a head start and a definite advantage in the mains. You can focus on optional topics that you find challenging For the majority who are on the borderline: You might be experiencing a difficult time and lacking the motivation to start preparing. Always try to control what you can. The exam is over, and the results will be out in a few weeks. The time you have now is under your control. Whether you clear the exam or not, this preparation will contribute to your success in 2024 or 2025. Avoid the regret of not preparing once the results are announced. For those who couldn't make it: Its tough. After my third attempt, I knew I would fail due to CSAT. The best thing was that I accepted and processed it early, allowing me to start my best preparation for the next successful attempt. If you have more attempts and are willing to continue, analyze your mistakes and leave no stone unturned for the next attempt. If you plan to shift your focus to another career, don't set low goals just because you failed in the prelims. It might not be your cup of tea. That's it. All the best for your future endeavors.

  • All the best dear friends, 1)Yes, you've studied a lot. Now stay calm and composed. Don't approach the exam with any preconceived notions. If you tackle the paper with a peaceful mind, you'll do well. 2) Carry your confidence . Even if the exam is the toughest, there will be few questions for you to be in the list.If it's difficult, it will be difficult for everyone. TRUST IN YOUR PREPARATION. 3)Don't judge your fate based on the first two hours of the GS . The race isn't over yet.Give full focus to CSAT. 4) Remember ! There will be scope for application of elimination techniques based on common sense.

#Currentaffairs for prelims Resources 1. The primary source I depended on and found most effective was the newspaper. There's a greater chance of recalling information from the newspaper. 2.Compilations- Selective reading can be useful. But its not an alteranative to newspaper.Cost output ratio is minimal here. Preparation 1. I nearly spend 1 to 1.5 hours reading newspaper 2. In this attempt, I've gone through the Sunya IAS compilation for prelims. Given its dry and monotonous nature, I have done combined study with a friend .  ps: Sunya IAS conpilation is bulky. If you havent read it yet,  dont do at this point of time.Utility for me was also minimal.

  • #Currentaffairs for prelims 1. I dont feel current affairs portion can pull you down out of the prelims list.If you are strong with basics and have practiced pyq you can still make it.However reading newspaper will help you prioritize topics. For people doing current affairs on regualr basis 1. Good.Stick to your own strategy and prioritize revision over new topics. For aspirants not regular with newspaper or compilation. 1. Believe that this will not bar you from getting the cutoff marks. Its your grasp of basics that matters. So your confidence should be high while doing the questions. 2. You can just take any compilation and go through the index. Do a selctive reading if you wish. 3.Other way to cover current affairs is mock test.Note the repeating current affairs that comes in different mock tests For 2025 candidates 1. Focus on reading any one newspaper regularly. It will help in both prelims and mains. 2. Collect good examples and case studies for gs papers and essay. 3. Note-making is a personal preference; I haven't prepared any newspaper notes specifically for prelims.
