✍️ Sayings of the prophet's companions on the festivals of the disbelievers Ibn al-Qayyim said: “It is not permissible for the Muslims to attend the festivals of the mushrikeen, according to the consensus of the scholars whose words carry weight. The fuqahā (scholars) who follow the four schools of thought have stated this clearly in their books… [1] Al-Bayhaqī narrated with a sahīh (authentic) isnād from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he said: “Do not enter upon the mushrikūn (disbelievers) in their churches on the day of their festival, for divine wrath is descending upon them.” (as-Sunan al-Kubrā 18861) وَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي كَنَائِسِهِمْ يَوْمَ عِيدِهِمْ فَإِنَّ السَّخْطَةَ تَنْزِلُ عَلَيْهِمْ [2] And ‘Umar also said: “Avoid the enemies of Allaah on their festivals.” (as-Sunan al-Kubrā 18862) اجْتَنِبُوا أَعْدَاءَ اللَّهِ فِي عِيدِهِمْ [3] Al-Bayhaqī narrated with a jayyid (good) isnād from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he said: “Whoever settles in the land of the disbelievers and celebrates their festivals (such as) “nowruz” and “mehregan” and imitates them until he dies in that state, will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.” مَنْ بَنَى بِبِلَادِ الْأَعَاجِمِ وَصَنَعَ نَيْرُوزَهُمْ وَمِهْرَجَانَهُمْ وَتَشَبَّهَ بِهِمْ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ وَهُوَ كَذَلِكَ حُشِرَ مَعَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ 📚 “Ahkām ahl adh-dhimmah” 1/723 🇸🇦 Fawaid EN | t.me/fawaid_en

Allah, the Exalted, says: “Alms-tax is only for the poor and the needy, for those employed to administer it, for those whose hearts are attracted ˹to the faith˺, for ˹freeing˺ slaves, for those in debt, for Allah’s cause, and for ˹needy˺ travellers. ˹This is˺ an obligation from Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” (Surah at-Tawbah 9:60) The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allaah will remove one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection from him. Whoever grants respite to (a debtor) who is in difficulty, Allaah will grant him relief in this world and in the Hereafter.” (Muslim 2699) This noble brother is weighed down by a heavy debt and needs someone to help him pay it off. The debt documents are attached to this appeal as confirmation of his situation. The Prophet ﷺ also said: “Whoever grants respite to an debtor or alleviates it for him, Allah will shade him on the Day of Judgement under His Throne, a Day in which there is no shade except His shade.” (at-Tirmidhi 1306, authenticated by al-Albani) O people of goodness, help to ease his difficulty, for whoever guides others to good will have a reward equal to that of the one who performs it. “Whatever you give in charity is certainly well known to Allah.” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:273)
