TOPIC : Stir Up the Gift of God in You DATE : Wednesday 18th February, 2021 TEXT : 2 Tim 1 : 6 Therefore I remind you to *stir up the gift of God which is in you* through the laying on of my hands._ The Word of God encourages us to stir up the gift of God in us. One reason why we must stir up the gifts of God in us is that, we can only enjoy the gifts of God maximally by stirring them up. Be diligent to stirr up all of God's gifts in you. As you do this, your life will be greatly enriched and you will be a mega blessing to your generation. You may be asking right now, 'how then can I stir up the gift of God in me?' You stir up the gift of God by: 1. Discovering and recognizing the gift of God in you. 2. Studying and meditating on the gift 3. Developing the gift 4. Becoming more conscious of the gift 5. Exercising the gift 6. Praying in tongues about the gift 7. Activating the gift 8. Associating with men that have similar gifts 9. Using the gifts to serve God and men 10. TOPIC : Walk in Love Part 3 DATE : Monday 8th February, 2021 TEXT : 1 John 2 : 10 _He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him._ Walking in divine love is walking in divine guidance. You will never miss out on divine direction if you are walking in love. If you want to be led by the Spirit of God, to grow up spiritually, and walk in love always, then I strongly suggest that you meditate on the love of God daily. Open your bible to 1 Cor 13 : 4 - 8, preferably in the Amplified Version of the bible and meditate on these verses daily. As you do so, the love of God will begin to dominate your thinking, your actions and your whole life. Let's turn to 1 Cor 13, and begin meditating on God's love right now. _Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]..._ (1 Cor 13 : 4 - 8 AMP) Read and meditate on these verses over and over again. Personalise what you are reading. Fix your name in these verses. Wherever the word love is mentioned, replace it by your name, since you are born of God and God is love, therefore your real nature is love. For example, this is how I read and meditate on this passage: "Joshua endures long and is patient, Joshua is never envious nor boils over with jealousy..." Meditating on this passage of scripture personalised daily, will help you to develop spiritually and become very sensitive to the Holy Spirit . I strongly recommend that you meditate on this passage for at least thirty minutes daily and you will make notable progress spiritually. TOPIC : Maximize Your Advantage DATE : Monday, 12th of October, 2020 TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14 : 2 (NKJV) ' For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands [him;] however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." When a believer speaks in tongues, he is speaking to God. He is speaking beyond human understanding. ..."for no one understands him..." This is where many people have problems with speaking in tongues. They are trying to understand what they are saying or what others are saying in tongues, when the bible clearly says that no one understands. When a man speaks in tongues, he has gone past the realm of man, past the realm of humanity and is now operating in the realm of divinity. This is why no one understands him except God. When you learn to speak in tongues regularly, your life will become mysterious both to devils and ordinary men. You will begin to live an extraordinary life as you spend more time speaking in tongues regularly. You will live on earth like God. You will be operating in the realm of divinity far above human realm and far, far, f....a....r above all devils. In other words speaking in tongues is maximizing our advantage in Christ. When you speak in tongues, you are operating from your exalted position in Christ. Speaking in tongues is living in, (activating, enjoying and maximizing) your spiritual advantages in Christ. No wonder the devil fights against speaking in tongues so much, because he knows that speaking in tongues gives the believer an advantage in life. You are not disadvantaged. You have the advantage in this life. Stop pitying yourself, rather activate your advantage in Christ by speaking in tongues always. TOPIC : Speaking in Tongues Or Praying in Tongues DATE : Sunday, 5th of October, 2020 TEXT: 1 Corinthians 14 : 4 " He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church." Speaking in tongues is different from praying in tongues. When a believer speaks in tongues, usually he does not have any specific prayer item in mind. He is speaking in tongues just to edify himself. On the other hand, when a person prays in tongues, he must have a specific prayer item that he focuses his heart and mind upon. "For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays,..." ( 1 Cor 14 : 14 Amp) Your spirit does the praying BY the Holy Spirit, when you pray in tongues. The Holy Spirit helps us with our weaknesses when we pray in tongues (Rom 8 : 26) You can speak in tongues while doing other things like driving, washing, walking etc But you cannot do other things while praying in tongues. Praying in tongues demands absolute concentration on the Holy Spirit and on your prayer item. However, both speaking in tongues and praying in tongues help to improve our spiritual sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. So learn to practice both speaking in tongues and praying in tongues continuously. How then can we give thanks successfully? Thank God : 1. For Who He is ( for every attribute of God that you can remember, give thanks); 2. For the gift of life (when you thank God for the gift of life, you will receive the good things of life); 3 For every spiritual blessing in Christ that God has blessed us with.; 4. For all that Jesus has done for us in His death, burial and resurrection (for the finished works of Christ); 5. For the Word of God and all the promises in the Word of God 6. For all your personal prophecies, instructions and guidance. TOPIC : Counsels From God DATE : Monday, 14th of September , 2020 TEXT: Psalms 16 : 7 (NIV) "I will praise the LORD who counsels me, even at night my heart instructs me." "...God counsels me..." Notice that this is present continuous tense. Counselling me is not what God does once in my lifetime, it is what He does always. No wonder the bible calls the Holy Spirit my Counsellor. God counsels me always. This is another way of saying God leads me always. To be counselled by the Lord is to be led by the Lord. I am never confused in life, because God counsels me. I never lack direction in life, because God counsels and leads me. How does the Lord counsels me? My heart instructs me. In other words, the instructions of my heart are the counsels of the Lord for me. Anytime I listen to my heart, I am receiving counsel from the Lord. You can receive God's counsel in every situation, in every circumstance of life, in every decision making, by listening to your heart. Counsels from God is the same thing as guidance from the Lord. "I will bless the LORD who guides me... my heart instructs me." (NLT) God guides me by the instructions of my heart So following my heart is following divine guidance. TOPIC : Seems Good Part 2 DATE : Thursday, 3rd of September , 2020 TEXT: Acts 15 : 28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us, to lay upon you no other burden than these necessary things." Note carefully, that what seemed good to the Apostles also seemed good to the Holy Spirit. Likewise with us today, what seems good to you as a born again believer, seems good to the Holy Spirit. "Seems good ": is the Holy Spirit bearing witness with your spirit concerning something you want to do. It often appears as something pleasing to the real you, to your recreated spirit. The thoughts that are pleasing to you and are consistent with the Word of God and the God kind of love are the leading of the Spirit to you (the inward witness). This was how Luke was moved by the Holy Spirit to write the gospel according to Luke. *"It seemed good to me* also having had perfect understanding of all things, from the very first, to write on to thee in order, most excellent Theophilus." (Luke 1:3 - 4) As great as writing St Luke's gospel was, he did not receive the inspiration through a vision, by an angel or any spectacular guidance. How did he receive it? He said "it seemed good to me" If you learn to follow the things that seem good to you, you will be used by God to do great things, because by so doing, you will be following the leading of the Spirit. *TOPIC : Follow Your Convictions* DATE : Sunday, 30th of August , 2020 TEXT: Josh 14 : 7 ( NIV)*l "I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions" The verse of scripture quoted above, was Caleb's testimony about himself. Caleb was one of the twelve spies that Moses sent out to the promised land. Ten of the spies brought back an evil report as a result they died in the wilderness. Two of the spies ( Caleb and Joshua) brought back a good report. What was the secret of Caleb's success? He said "...I brought him back a report according to my convictions" Following the convictions of your heart will make you a success because the convictions of your heart are the leading leading of the Spirit. Apostle Paul is another example of a man that followed the convictions of his heart. See Paul's testimony of himself: "...I am going to Jerusalem, bound by the Holy Spirit and obligated and compelled by the convictions of my own spirit.." (Acts 20 : 22 Amp) Paul followed the convictions of his heart always and he became very successful. Learn to follow the convictions of your heart always, it will make you a success. Spirit-Led Life Devotional TOPIC An Art Of Worship DATE Tuesday, 9th June '20 TEXT John 16: 13-14 ...He,the Spirit of truth...will guide you...He will glorify Me, for He will take what is mine and declare it to you... The Holy Spirit will guide us and He shall glorify Jesus. How? He shall declare to us the things of God. So anytime the Spirit leads us, He glorifies Jesus and God. Anytime He reveals things to us He glorifies Jesus. Why does God leads us? To glorify Himself. Every leading of the Spirit glorifies God. The leading of the Spirit is all about glorifying God. Therefore, the leading of the Spirit is an art of worship not an ambition. Choosing to be led by the Spirit is choosing to glorify God, is choosing to worship God. A commitment to the Spirit led is a commitment to worshipping and glorifying God; it is reverence for God. God leads us in the ways of righteousness for His Name sake. In other words the Spirit-led life honours the Name of Jesus. So anytime I am led by the Spirit, I bring honour to the Name of Jesus. My commitment to the Spirit led life shows my respect for the Name of Jesus. Getting committed to the Spirit led life is a demonstration of my reverence for God. In the same way that when we sing and worship God it glorifies Him, when we are led by the Spirit of God, we also glorify God. For a true worshipper, the Spirit-led life is a must. From today, get committed to learning more about the Spirit led life and also to following the leading of the Spirit.
