The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has officially announced Awash Capital Investment Bank SC and Gadaa Securities Dealers SC as its newest members. This brings the total number of trading members on the exchange to five. Both institutions were admitted after obtaining a license from the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority and completing all required regulatory and operational preparations. As full members, Awash Capital and Gadaa Securities are now authorized to execute the buying and selling of stocks and bonds on the exchange. They will act as intermediaries between investors and the market, playing a crucial role in facilitating capital flow and market activity.

Ethiopia will begin printing its own passports domestically within the next two to three months, ending reliance on foreign production. The newly completed $55 million facility, "Topan Gravity Ethiopia," is a joint venture in the Bole Lemi Industrial Park between the Ethiopian Investment Holding and Topan Gravity. CEO Dr. Brook Taye stated the project ensures sovereignty over sensitive documents and saves significant foreign currency. Once machinery installation is finished, the factory will produce passports and other security documents meeting all national identity and security standards.
