During a recent conversation with the leader of GHOST, he was asked whether the band was planning to record a new EP, given that they have almost always released an EP following a full-length album: “No. At the moment, there are no plans for an EP. Aside from the ongoing North American Skeletour we’re currently on, nothing else is scheduled. So the future is wide open right now. Creatively, I have a lot of work to do. In fact, I’m recording something at the moment, but it’s neither a covers EP nor a new GHOST album. So I honestly don’t know exactly what will happen or when — and that’s a good thing. For the past 15 years, we’ve been working nonstop, and the cycles have essentially just blended into one another. Every time we finished an album cycle, I would step off the stage knowing that on Monday morning I’d be back in the studio for what felt like our next performance. It became this kind of continuous, cyclical process of thinking about the future — thinking ahead, expanding, expanding, expanding for a very long time. And I’ve reached a point where I’m just… well, I still have ideas, I still have dreams, I still have goals that I don’t think we’ve achieved yet — the wish list definitely still exists — but that will be for another time.”

At the 2025 Polar Music Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Tobias Forge, the frontman of Ghost, performed the legendary Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The performance took place in the presence of Brian May, Roger Taylor, and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. Forge appeared on stage as Papa Emeritus V, accompanied by Opeth guitarist Fredrik Åkesson and the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir. The audience responded with enthusiasm, and the members of Queen gave a standing ovation. This heartfelt tribute was both a declaration of love for Queen’s music and another testament to Forge’s talent.
