A Smile Is Not Just a Smile: The Power of Non-Verbal Communication😁 Have you ever thought about how much we say without speaking? In our daily interactions, research suggests that up to 93% of meaning is derived from non-verbal cues. ❄️Take the famous "Slavic stare"—that stoic, serious expression common in old photos from Eastern Europe. To an outsider, it might seem cold. But within that cultural context, it often signified formality, dignity, or simply a different norm for photography. 🎥Recently, our lecturer and current master's student, Elizabeth Babasyan, created a hilarious video set to the song "Rasputin," showcasing her childhood photos featuring this classic serious look The video brilliantly played with this cultural trope, and it has since been viewed over 2 million times! By the way, she also runs the insightful "Teacher's Diary" channel, where she shares her experiences in teaching English as a foreign language .
