Hey WiFi Heros! Need your help with something. We usually talk about contributions and validations, but today I wanted to hear from you as regular users. What feature do you feel is missing in WiFi Map? Not about adding hotspots, but something that would make the app more useful or more interesting to open when traveling or even day to day. A couple of examples of what I mean: ☕💻 A “good for working with a laptop” filter. When someone adds or updates a spot, we could ask a few quick questions: quiet or noisy? outlets? comfortable to sit with a laptop? good enough for calls? Then on the map, you could turn on a filter and instantly see cafés, lobbies, coworking spots, or other places nearby where you can actually sit down and work. ⚠️ A safety layer. Areas where it may not be great to walk at night, places where travelers should be more careful, neighborhoods people usually avoid, etc. Super useful when you land in a new city and don’t really know the area. These are just examples to show what I mean. What do you think about these two features themselves? Drop your ideas. What would you personally want to see in the app? You know WiFi Map better than almost anyone 🙌

An important update about the in-app $WIFI wallet We're removing the $WIFI wallet from the WiFi Map app to comply with new Apple and Google rules around crypto features in mobile apps. What you need to know: • All 'Pending' actions from the Earn wallet have been credited to your Main wallet via Airdrop. The Earn wallet is now disabled — you'll only see Main. • Please withdraw your tokens to an external wallet before April 20. After that date, the wallet will no longer be available in the app. • Once you withdraw from Main, the wallet will disappear from the app. We know this is disappointing, but we're planning to move wallet functionality to wifimap.io, where we'll have more freedom to build outside mobile platform limitations. I’ve been a bit quiet lately. That’s because we’ve been heads-down building something big — a brand new reward system to replace the old airdrop.🪂 The previous airdrop system wasn’t transparent enough. It was slow, unclear, and left people wondering when or if rewards would ever show up. That’s changing. The new system is almost ready. It’s now fully on-chain on Polygon — transparent, real-time, and aligned with how a Web3 project should work. You’ll see an estimated reward before you contribute. And once you map a Wi-Fi spot or another amenity, the app will instantly show what you earned — right on the thank-you screen. No more guessing. No more waiting. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming. Do you still find offline maps useful? 10 years ago they were a must-have. But today, with mobile internet, eSIMs, and cheap data plans, things have changed. Offline maps make the app heavier, take up a lot of space, need constant updates, and sometimes cause bugs. We’re thinking about whether it’s still worth supporting them. What do you think?
