It may happen, or it may not — it depends on the buy/sell imbalance during the closing auction each day. This is part of the new NSE mechanism (CAS), not a flaw in our system. For confirmation, you can also cross-check with the Nifty and Bank Nifty futures charts — since F&O now closes at 3:40 PM, futures data gives a cleaner picture during this transition.
