The Houthis have just launched a barrage of rockets at Saudi Arabia. This comes just after Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed a defense treaty.

THE MECCA ALLIANCE Something significant is taking shape in the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have formed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement - a collective-defense pact based on the principle that an attack against one will be considered an attack against all. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan compared it to Article 5 of NATO - the principle of collective defense. Think about this: Saudi Arabia - the heart of the Islamic world. Turkey - one of NATO’s largest military powers. Pakistan - the only Muslim-majority nuclear-armed state. Egypt has also been mentioned as a potential future participant. But for students of Bible prophecy, Turkey is the country to watch. Turkey is still a member of NATO, yet it is now forming another collective-defense framework with major Muslim powers. Its divided strategic allegiance is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. For years I have taught that eventually Turkey will choose its alignment with Russia over its Western alliances. Why? Because long before NATO, long before modern Turkey, and long before any of today’s military alliances existed, the prophet Ezekiel described the coalition that would come against Israel in the last days. “Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them… Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops…” Ezekiel 38:5-6 Russia, Iran, Turkey and others will eventually find themselves together against Israel - exactly as the Bible foretold. I am not suggesting that the Mecca Alliance is the Ezekiel 38 coalition. It isn’t. But we are watching alliances shift before our eyes. Nations are repositioning. Old alliances are weakening. New ones are forming. And eventually, Turkey will have to choose. As I have said many times, when that moment comes, I believe Turkey will choose the coalition described by Ezekiel over its NATO alliance with the West. The Bible doesn’t need today’s headlines to prove that it is true. Today’s headlines simply remind us that God already knew the end from the beginning.
