Book recommendation The book is: المجموع المفيد في متون العقيدة والتوحيد It has many of the mutūn compiled in one, and it’s handy to have if you want the texts alone to memorise or practice your arabic reading. إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون I just wanted to share the sad news that reached me this morning. Our beloved brother Mahmoud from Slough - the brother whom Shaykh Abu Rayhanah stayed with during his visit to the UK - has sadly lost his mother this morning .. رحمها الله رحمة واسعة. Please keep his mother in your du'a', asking Allah to forgive her, have mercy upon her, and grant her Jannatul Firdaws. And please make du'a' for our brother Mahmoud and his family, that Allah grants them patience, strength, and ease during this difficult time. The Janazah details have been attached.

Memorization is what separates us from all the previous nations before us. We memorize the Quran, we memorize Hadith, we memorize statements of our Salaf, we memorize Arabic poetry from the past, and we memorize mutoon for each science. Memorization is one of the most essential parts of our studies, and it cannot be neglected. Every student of knowledge should have the Quran memorized. If he has not memorized the Quran, he should be working towards it. Every student of knowledge should have at least 1,500 Hadiths memorized. Every student should have a notebook with statements of the Salaf in it to be memorized or read regularly at least. Every student of knowledge should have at least 1,000 to 5,000 lines of poetry memorized. Poetry is an essential piece of a person's Arabic studies.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The Verse That Was Revealed on the Day of 'Arafah at 'Arafāt { ٱلۡیَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِینَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِی وَرَضِیتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمَ دِینࣰاۚ } "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islām as religion." [Sūrah al-Mā'idah (5): 3] Sh. 'Abdur-Rahmān ibn Nāsir as-Sa'di رحمه الله said in his tafseer: "Today I have perfected for you your religion", through the completion of victory, and the perfecting of both the outward and inward laws, the foundations and the branches. For this reason, the Book and the Sunnah are entirely and completely sufficient for the rulings of religion, both its foundations and its branches. Therefore, any mature and sane person who presumes to claim that people are in need, for understanding their beliefs and rulings, of sciences other than the knowledge of the Book and the Sunnah, such as 'ilm al-kalām (speculative theology) and the like, is ignorant, and false in his claim. He has essentially alleged that religion cannot be complete except through what he says and calls to, and this is among the gravest forms of wrongdoing and ascribing ignorance to Allah and His Messenger. "And I have completed My favor upon you", both outward and inward, "and I have approved Islam as a religion for you", meaning: I have chosen and selected it for you as a religion, just as I have deemed you fitting for it. So uphold it in gratitude to your Lord, and praise the One who blessed you with the best, most noble, and most perfect of all religions." Even if a person falls a thousand times, let them never despair of the mercy of الله. Rise again, gather yourself, turn back to your Rabb with sincere repentance, and strive to do whatever khayr you are able to do after asking الله سبحانه وتعالى for tawfīq. Never belittle even the smallest act of khayr. Saying: SubḥānAllāh, Alḥamdulillāh, Allāhu Akbar, and Lā ilāha illa Allāh, even while lying on your bed is recorded as good deeds, alongside the immense virtues mentioned in the aḥādīth. So begin from where you are, with what you can. These are precious days, a golden opportunity to attain the pleasure, mercy, and nearness of الله. If not now, then when? ﴿فَأَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ﴾ “But as for him who repented (from polytheism and sins), believed (in the Oneness of Allâh, and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and did righteous deeds (in the life of this world), then he will be among those who are successful.” سورة القصص،٦٧ [Forwarded post] https://t.me/khazinatulilm
