The narrow road has never been crowded. Don't measure truth by popularity.

I think sometimes we know exactly where God is leading us… and we still hide. Not necessarily because we don’t trust Him, but because we’re scared. Scared of what obedience might cost us. Scared of getting hurt. Scared of leaving what’s comfortable. Scared of stepping into something when we can’t see how it ends. Relationships, work endeavors, etc.. Jonah knew exactly what God was asking of him and still got on a boat going the opposite direction. (Many times we’d probably all do the same) we avoid, we make excuses, we overthink, we convince ourselves we need more time. But delaying obedience doesn’t change who God is or where He is leading. “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?” — Psalm 139:7 Sometimes we spend so much time asking God to show us His will when maybe He already has… and we’re just afraid to walk in it.

A good friend of mine (who I work with) is going to lose her best friend this morning. He had a heart attack and fell into water in Lake Michigan. Please pray for them, and that God would reveal Himself to them. Also a sobering reminder that life is short, and it can be taken from us at any moment. Do NOT take people for granted. Love people hard and always tell them what they mean to you before it is too late. Trust in Christ and His finished work.

Sometimes we hurt the people we love. I have. It isn’t always intentional. Sometimes it’s through our words. Sometimes it’s our actions. Sometimes it’s what we failed to do. But I think one of the greatest tests of our walk with Christ is what we do when someone tells us, “You hurt me.” Our flesh immediately wants to defend itself. I know mine does.. “That’s not what I meant.” “You misunderstood me.” “Well, you hurt me too.” “You’re being too sensitive.” But biblical love doesn’t immediately jump to a defense. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” — James 1:19 Sometimes when we love someone, it requires us to sit in the uncomfortable moments. Biblical apologies aren’t, “sorry you feel that way” It calls us to be humble, take ownership, repent, and quite possibly change our behavior. “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret…” — 2 Corinthians 7:10
