On August 12, 2026, the Swedish-American company Heart Aerospace successfully completed the first flight of the Heart X1 technology demonstrator. To date, this is the largest fully electric aircraft in history to have taken to the air. During the tests, the X1 performed taxiing, takeoff, climb, maneuvering, and landing. The aircraft remained airborne for 27 minutes and reached an altitude of approximately 330 meters. The X1 aircraft is not intended for commercial passenger transport. For now, it is a full-scale technology demonstrator built to test aerodynamics, airframe behavior, and electric system performance in actual flight. The results of the X1 tests will be used in the development of the serial regional airliner Heart ES-30, which is designed as a 30-seat regional passenger aircraft.
