Dorilar nega achchiq boʻladi? Shu hafta shu narsani oʻylab qoldim: dorilarga ham sal ta’mini yaxshilaydigan modda qoʻshishsa boʻlmaydimi? Mehnati uncha katta boʻlmasa kerak? Narxi ozgina qimmatlashishi mumkin-u, lekin isteʼmol qilish yaxshilanishiga arzir? Keyin savolni sal boshqacharoq berdim: aslida achchiq boʻlsa ham, nega dorilarni ichaveramiz? Inson tabiatiga noqulaylik umuman yoqmaydi. Doimo oʻzimizga oson boʻlgan, oʻzimizga yoqqan narsalarni qilishni xohlash — normal, insonning asliyati shunday. Dori ichishda davom etaverish, baʼzan koʻngilimizni aynitsa ham, baʼzan tomogʻimizni achishtirsa ham, buning foydasi borligini bilishimizda. Ichmasak, sogʻligimizga yomon boʻladi. Buni esa xohlamaymiz. Shuning uchun, qanchalik yoqsin–yoqmasin, belgilangan kungacha dorilarni toʻxtatmaymiz. Ammo nega biror yaxshi odatni boshlayotib shunday qaramaymiz? Aytaylik, kitob oʻqimasak, maʼnaviyatimizga, sport bilan shugʻullanishmasak, tanamizga, kundalik tutmasak, ruhiyatimizga, namoz oʻqimasak, oxiratimizga yomon boʻlishini bilamiz-ku? Toʻgʻri, yaxshi odatlar shakllantirishning ham dorilardek achchiq tomonlari bor. Eng koʻp uchraydigani — shunchaki nafsimizga yoqmasligi. Agar dorilarni ichaverishimizning sababi sogʻligimiz boʻlsa, ruhiyatimiz-u maʼnaviyatimizning ahamiyatini ham shu darajada koʻtarish bilan yaxshi odatlarda bardavom boʻla olamiz va "achchiq"liklariga chidaymiz. Shunchaki biz koʻnglimiz toʻlmagan holatimizda oʻzimizni "kasal" deb tasavvur qilib, oʻsha yaxshi ish-u odatlarga "dori" sifatida qarasak boʻlgani. @my_shared_diary #reflection

  • Uyimizga bozorlikni faqat dadam qiladilar. Esimni tanibmanki, doim hamma narsani katta miqdorda olib keladilar. Un, yog', guruch, piyoz, sovundan tortib tuxum va tish pastasigacha 1-2 oylik xarajat bittada qilinadi. Mahalladagi do'konga chiqqani kamdan kam ehtiyoj bo'ladi. Katta bozorlik qilishdan asosiy maqsad — bunaqasida baraka bo'ladi. Vaqt masalasida ham shunday. 40 minutlik ishni uchga bo'lib qilsam, 1 soatdan ko'p vaqt oladi. Kunimning eng samarasiz o'tgan qismi doimo 10-15 minutlik fragmentlarga bo'lingan payti bo'ladi. "5 daqiqa, javob yozib olay", "10 daqiqa Instagram ko'rib olay", "Hozir tezda "Habit tracker"imni to'ldirib olay", "Ozgina xayol surib qolib ketibman" — mana shularning hammasi vaqtning barakasini o'ldiradi. Albatta, bu degani bu ishlarni umuman qilmaslik kerak, degani emas. Bunaqa "mayda" ishlar uchun alohida bitta "time block" (misol uchun 30 daqiqa) ajratish kerak. Shu bitta block davomida kelgan emaillarni tekshirib, Telegramda chatlarga javob berib, qilinishi kerak ishlarni qayd qilib yoki qilinganlarini belgilab, xullas, hammasini bittada hal qilib olish kerak. Shunda ular boshqa ko'proq vaqt oladigan ishlarning barakasini o'g'irlamaydi. Endi o'sha 40 minutlik ishni bir o'tirganda, balki 30 minutda, tugatsa bo'ladi. Chunki fikr chalg'imaydi, diqqat bo'linmaydi. Lekin bitta o'tirganda qancha ko'p vaqt sarflansa, shuncha barakali bo'ladi, degan fikr xato. Har bir odamning o'z sig'imi bor — qanchadir vaqtdan keyin miya qabul qilishni to'xtatadi. Aynan shu limitga yetgandan so'ng har bir "ko'proq" daqiqa endi zararga ishlaydi. O'z layoqatimizdan ortiqcha vaqtda miyamizni majburlash aksincha barakani ketkazadi. Shuning uchun biz 1-2 yillik xarajat emas, 1-2 oylik qilamiz — yo'qsa sabzavotlar so'lib, guruchga hasharot tushib, tish pastasining yaroqlilik muddati o'tib qoladi. @my_shared_diary #reflection #productivity

  • ▪️ Essays ➡️ Essays take the most of your time and energy. Before even starting your essays, research the university's values, academic strengths, and community. You're not trying to present yourself as the perfect student. Instead, you need to show that you're the right fit. Each university has its "own" kind of student. And for them to see that you're a good fit for their community, you first have to understand what it is like to be their student: 🤩what values the students and staff hold 🤩what academic opportunities the university offers 🤩what qualities and skills the university looks for in its students 🤩what the campus community is like. ➡️ There are common questions you'll find in most universities applications. These are the questions you should start writing early, have ready at all times, and can reuse for many applications. Adjusting them to each university and its word limit won't be a big problem. What is really crucial is that you have a clear idea about what you are going to write for those common questions, which include: 🤩Describe a time you had a disagreement/different view with someone. How did you approach the situation and what did you learn? 🤩What gives you joy? (literally) 🤩What are you excited to learn about? 🤩Tell us about the community you belong to and your role there. ➡️ Having your essays reviewed is indeed an important step. For you, your essays seem good, because you know what you mean. Getting feedback is basically seeing how your essay reads through someone else's eyes. Make sure you ask someone you trust, who knows you well, and certainly, whose perspective you value. Keep in mind that essays that have been reviewed and revised are always better than essays read only by the author. ➡️ They say "write a memorable story" and I agree. Don't be afraid to be yourself. Common templates, common topics, common "challenges" and "solutions", common phrases—these all are too familiar to the admissions officers who read hundreds or thousands of essays each year. Be creative. Be unique. Be yourself. ➡️ Be positive. Even in your challenges or disagreement essays, bring positive energy. Your vibe matters. And your essays are what deliver your vibe to the admission officers. @my_shared_diary #admission #advice

  • Today, let's talk about ▪️ Financial documents ➡️ I noticed that I had literally written in my notes, "Start thinking about finances earlier." I really did mean it. I learned that something called the CSS Profile existed just a day before the early-round deadline. You definitely wouldn't want that. Financial documents have sections where you'll need to ask your parents for information to fill them out. You'll be in a rush and under a lot of stress if you don't prepare these documents in advance. CSS alone has, if I'm not mistaken, 16 sections to complete. Complete it well beforehand—you'll use it at least once. ➡️ Be clear about which financial document the university asks for. Some do require the CSS Profile, some don't accept CSS at all. Some offer alternatives you may prefer, some others have their own financial forms to complete. Usually the information is available on their website, but if you can't find it, email them to ask about their financial document requirements. It may take time for them to respond, or you may have to provide additional documents which you'll have to prepare. So again, start early. ➡️ Submitting the CSS Profile cost $16 per college last year, plus an initial $9 fee. However, if you're applying to 10 universities, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll cost you almost $170. A good tactic is to email universities to ask whether fee waivers are available or whether they accept the ISFAA (a free alternative to the CSS Profile). Or they may say that the CSS Profile isn't required until after you'll have received your decision. @my_shared_diary #admission #advice

  • YouTubeda IELTS, biologiya, samaradorlik bo'yicha kanallarga ulanib olganimda obunaligimcha qolib ketgan ekan, yaqinda payqab qoldim. Lekin shorts qismida chiqadigan videolar asosan kinolardan parchalar, men obuna bo'lmagan juftlik, sayohatbop maskanlar haqida bo'lardi. O'ylanib qoldim: Men biror kanalga obunaligimning menga ko'rsatilayotgan (va tabiiyki men ko'rayotgan) videolarga aloqasi bo'lmagan. "Shu sahifaga a'zoman" deyishimning ahamiyati yo'q edi. Men qabul qilayotgan kontent avval qanday videolar ko'proq ko'rilganligi va "like" qilinganining natijasi edi. Hayotda ham shunday. Biz o'quvchimiz degani o'qiyapmiz deganimas. Musulmonmiz degani islomni qoyillatyapmiz deganimas. Zo'r rejamiz bor degani unga amal qilyapmiz deganimas. Maqsadlarimizni yozib aniqlashtirganimiz degani ularga erishyapmiz deganimas. Muhimroq omil — qilayotgan harakatimizda. YouTubedagi obuna kabi maqsad va shaxsiyatning faqat "qog'ozda" ekanligidan foyda yo'q. Biz o'sha maqsad va shaxsiyatni hayotimizga tadbiq qilish uchun qilayotgan amallarimiz, katta-yu kichik qarorlarimiz, borayotgan yo'limiz aslida natijani belgilaydi — xuddi YouTubedagi qaysi videoni oxirigacha ko'rishimiz va qaysilariga "like" bosishimiz keyingi videolar qandayligini hal qilishda muhimroq bo'lgani kabi. @my_shared_diary #reflection

  • ▪️ Separate email Some students say that it's better to have a separate email address for admissions. I used to believe that it would make things more complicated, as I thought it'd be more difficult to manage two accounts. ➡️ In early round, I applied using my (one and only) personal email address. But the opposite happened: the university-related emails got mixed with my other emails. It was difficult to find the important ones when I needed them. ➡️ Then, before the regular round, I created a new Google account, and things became much more organized. What I realized was that in early round, I applied to only 4 universities, and in regular round, this number was surely much greater. So if I had been using the first email address, it would have got much, much messier. ➡️ And even in my new email inbox, I organized my emails even further by creating folders for US applications, Hong Kong, Korea, and the UK. Starring the really important ones, such as those containing your application ID numbers, is another good strategy. ➡️ By the way, don't even subscribe to universities' promotional emails with your new email address. You will want only and only important stuff there. If you're thinking "then, will I have a maximum of 20 emails there?🙄", no. Believe me, there won't be only automated "Application submitted" emails. You'll be communicating with the universities. More on emailing specifically later. @my_shared_diary #admission #advice

  • Admissions start soon. I'll be sharing the notes I took throughout the application period. ▪️ Deadlines You need to have an overall idea of how the deadlines for different regions are set. For example, ➡️ late October — early round for KAIST ➡️ November 1 — early round for almost all US universities ➡️ mid-November — early round for Hong Kong universities ➡️ January 1-5 — regular round for the US universities ➡️ early January — UK universities (on UCAS) ➡️ mid-January — regular round for Hong Kong universities ➡️ late January — regular round for some Korean universities ➡️ March — Middle East local universities These are based on my experience and it may have changed. But this should give you a general understanding of the timeline you shall be having. It's good to have a table with all the universities you are planning to apply to and their deadlines, so that you'll plan "oh, okay I'll apply to this first and to that next." A few universities may extend their deadlines for those who had started the application but did not submit. Though you can't be hoping for this—it's too risky. You hear it from everyone and I also don't hesitate to repeat it as it's really crucial: DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! You'll have days when several universities have deadlines at once, and if you do procrastinate, you'll probably end up not being able to apply to some universities. (I still remember Jan 5, the day I still had five applications due, besides the ones I had already submitted. I traveled from Andijan, arrived at school at 10 p.m., and by midnight, I had managed to submit only three applications.) @my_shared_diary #admission #advice

Many asked if I got any consultation for university application. Well, I did. I won a full scholarship for the IVYonaire Full Support Program for Asian universities. And in our cohort, the success rate was 90%: 18 out of 20 students got into top 100 universities with full scholarships. They have opened their applications again for rising seniors. If you get selected, you pay nothing and get 1-on-1 mentorship for your university application from August till February. Apply by July 2 (or earlier to get your interview invitation sooner :). @my_shared_diary #admission #programs

  • To be honest, I felt more content when they were calling me not "Mahmudjonova Bibihajarxonim" but "Rahmonali qizi." This is for you, Dad. Praise be to Allah for enabling me to gift you another "proud dad" moment. 💚 @my_shared_diary #grateful
