Two not obvious habits that will improve your SAT Verbal 1. When reading 📖something — whether it’s a scientific article or a fiction book — pay attention to logical flow, grammar, and vocabulary. Sometimes pause and ask yourself: why did the author add this piece of information? how can I describe what’s happening in one or two sentences? Also, try to understand the meaning of unknown words by zooming out and paying attention to the context; after doing this, look up the meaning of that word and add it to your dictionary, flashcard set, or whatever you’re using. This is called active reading. 2. When talking 📞to someone/discussing something/watching others engage in a conversation, think if and how your/their words connect to the topic, and if they actually make sense. Did you/they actually have any reasons to claim X? How can you express yourself more clearly? I think you got the point *These habits should complement your preparation, not replace it entirely.
