FWSC Engages Organised Labour on Transition to Independent Public Emoluments Commission The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) will meet with Organised Labour to begin consultations on the establishment of the Independent Public Emoluments Commission (IPEC), a new body expected to replace FWSC. The engagement, scheduled for August 13 and 14, 2026, at the Lancaster Hotel, Accra, will start at 9am each day. It is being organised by the FWSC in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment and the Ministry of Finance. The engagement aims to brief Organised Labour about the establishment of IPEC and to solicit their input in shaping a fair, transparent, and fiscally sustainable public sector pay system that protects the interests of workers while maintaining fiscal discipline. Stakeholder Participation More than 50 labour organisations have been invited to participate in the engagement. These include the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU), Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Ghana Medical Association (GMA), and the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), among others from the health, education, security services, and State-Owned Enterprises.

The highest SSNIT pensioner earns GH¢213,991.47 per month. 😱 The lowest existing pensioner earns GH¢409.56 per month. 😒 (2026 SSNIT Indexation) So, how can you determine approximately how much you would receive if you retired today at age 60? First, you should have contributed for at least 180 months (15 years) to enable SSNIT to determine your Average of Best 36 Months’ Salary. Next determine average of your Best 3 Years salaries. In simple terms, SSNIT look for the 36 months in which the salary used to pay your SSNIT contributions was highest.
