Responding to Distress is a two-hour peer-support workshop for hall residents. When someone in hall is struggling, the first person they turn to is rarely a counsellor — it's a friend, a neighbour, someone on the same floor. This session builds the skills to be that person well: recognising the warning signs, listening with empathy, steadying a tense moment, and knowing when and how to escalate. It runs in four hands-on parts, and assumes no clinical background - just a willingness to show up. All attendees receive a Certificate of Participation.
