Channel reboot?
Age doesn't breed wisdom. Experience does.
The only way out is through
Determined to become an extreme outlier by every metric
Every second you spend mourning the past is a second you waste in the present instead of doing something that would create a better future
I opened a mini-pack of gum. Only to find it was empty. deep
There’s only one correct way to spend your 20s: - trying a bunch of shit - taking on enormous amounts of risk - training like a motherfucker - praying tears of blood, working as hard as you possibly can while shooting for the absolute stars Anything less is a catastrophic FAIL
Callus your heart & mind. Rub them against the bleeding edge of life. And you will become indestructible.
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.” – Sun Tzu
To summarize: -Don't use your emotions, blind faith or ego as a trading/investing strategy. -Have a strong plan & stick to it. -Don't become fearful or greedy. -Don't get emotionally attached to irrelevant info. -Recognise mistakes & change your strategies accordingly.
11. Your brain prefers simple problem-solving heuristics such as biases. The problem is that biases aren't a good trading or investing strategy, either. The most common biases you'll face are: -Anchoring -Sunken cost fallacy -Confirmation bias 12. Beat anchoring Anchoring is forming an emotional attachment to an irrelevant piece of info (e.g. asset purchase price) You then use that irrelevant piece of info as a reference point/anchor. To beat this bias, realise that nobody knows or cares about that piece of info. It's irrelevant & it has no bearing on your position, whether profit or loss, it doesn't mean anything as far as good analysis & future expected market direction. 13. Jump ship off sunken cost The Sunken Cost fallacy is the belief that persisting in a certain wrong course of action will reverse the damage done to your assets Don't be obsessed w/ wrong plays You can't take them back Forget them & focus on whats in front of you right now 14. Kick confirmation bias Confirmation bias is the formation of expectations based on pre-existing fantasies, ego or faith. The dangerous part is that you actively seek out info that confirms your expectations. & filter out info that doesn't. You'd make the same play you used to win once, even after it costs you 10 times The idea is to approach the market without a bias & learn from within. To beat this one, toss out all preconceived notions about the market. Put your ego aside & treat your mind as a blank slate.
8. The Wall St. Cheat Sheet Psychology & sentiment is a great indicator of where the market is in its periodic cycle. Paying attention to the difference phases allows you to make the best possible move (if you know how to counterplay it). 9. Complacency is the real Bull Trap When the general market sentiment is that we haven't reached the top yet & will go even higher, That is where most people get trapped & start their downward trend of losing their money. 10. At the Disbelief phase, feeding season starts for the whales. People w/ deep pockets & longer time horizons will come in & sweep up all the capital at a discount price. Aim to be one of those people.
6. The Five Cognitive Dimensions of Mental Models This shows the mental frameworks that people use to operate within the market. Instinct, your mind's natural reactions, is the most common (& the most likely to get you wrecked) Empirical evidence is the rarest & most effective. 7. Logic is where most traders & investors (esp. new ones) think they operate due to a lack of humility In reality, most operate on instinct or faith (in someone else's info) Using logic is equivalent to a ton of experience & high-quality info Most should aspire to get here.
3. Most of us don't actually think. We only think we're thinking. In reality, 99% of people don't. Their prefrontal cortex (cognition centre) spends the majority of its time reverse-rationalizing emotions suggested to it by the amygdala (the brain's emotional centre). The scary part here is that most people aren't even conscious of this fact. Because their prefrontal cortex has rationalized it away & led them into thinking rhey're in control of their lives. In all actuality, they're just following their instincts. This is completely natural. It's how we've always functioned as human beings. & how the majority will continue to function. But... it's not beneficial when it comes to making statistically valid probabilistic decisions when it comes to making a profit trading & investing. 4. Even those aware of this may fall into it. During times of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt), stressful market conditions cause our brains to prioritize processing emotions over logic. It takes INTENSE mental training to avoid defaulting to following your emotions & instincts. 5. How can you avoid this? Develop a sound investing strategy. Find a strategy that has a high probability of making you money in the long term. Stick to it like your life depends on it. Your capital certainly does! Fail to follow your own plan & you'll end up as whale food. Having a plan & sticking to it allows your brian to run on autopilot instead of being in the driver's seat. You cannot rely on sheer willpower alone - you'll default back to emotional trading. Sticking to your plan gives you a sense of security & prevents FUD.
THE DARK PSYCHOLOGY OF INVESTING & TRADING This is one of THE MOST interesting & important topics I've discussed & learnt In short, our brains weren't made to trade Crypto, stocks, Forex, etc The way the mind works lends itself to some major investing & trading pitfalls Let's learn what they are (& how to avoid them): 1. Everything happens in the mind. 100% of all market activities happen through your cognition You press the "Buy/Open Long" button & all other events happen inside of your head This is why awareness of these pitfalls & how to program your mind to get rid of them is so vital. 2. Anything we think is funneled through a filter: All our previous experiences & biases come into play w/ every action we make. Everyone has this instinctual pitfall.

Almost all of what we refer to as "stress" is nothing but responsibility & accountability. If you're over the age of 7, congratulations; you've already gone through the most stressful - truly stressful - period of your life: childhood! Children have no mental or physical ability to recognise danger or protect themselves. They don't even have an immune system to defend themselves against disease. They are at their most vulnerable by all metrics. And they don't even have the consciousness to realise it. That is true stress.
We are living through a mini-Atlantean age
