Board- Board V Optional- Public Administration and Economics College- CET ( OUTR ) Bbsr Profession (if any)- Berozgar Hobbies- Cricket, Cooking and Learning about Emerging Technologiesechnologies Your experience in interview- Very very cordial board and its just like a conversation with elders. Utility of mocks or O2O (if any)- Zero utility. Only Apti Plus and Vajirao mocks have little relevance. OPSC interview is a different ball game all together. These institutes are novice in that matter. Greeted the members. Asked me to take a seat. Chairman : 1. You’ve good academics yet you scored miserable marks in your 10th Std. Why ? Answered : Sir I’ve tried my best. However the score is low. 2. Suppose you’re a captain of cricket team , 2 players having conflicts. How you ll manage that? Answered and he looks satisfied 3. Suppose a 5-5 groups consolidated in your team group A wants to bowl Player X and group B wants to bowl player Y. You’ve gone with your wisdom yet that decision backfired. How will you manage ( actually sir asked it for a minute—- I literally remembered this much ) 4. 5T and Transformation 5. How we can use 5T to improve administration. Member 1 : 1. I will learn about it. 8. Asked how AI 🤖 can improve administration in Odisha. 9. How you will use AI if posted as a BDO. 10. Other uses of AI. I told Sir about use in Army vehicles, Civilian vehicles , CAG and so on.. 11. Sir asked me about use of AI on other Military equipments. I said I’m not aware about that. Member 2 : 1. Then asked about which countries are under risk of submergence. 9. Use of AI to prevent pollution !! Thanked all members and came outside. My 2 cents : Interview was DAF / CIF based. Very few factual questions. Cordial board with immense of knowledge. Nothing like they are asking “ What is the height of Jagannath temple ? 🛕 or stopping corruption by checking and snooping employees bank account [ one of my dear friend was asked in mock, when he failed to answer this particular point the person humiliated him and told him that you’re not fit to be a civil servant] 😂😂 so you can clearly understand the difference. All the best everyone 🙏🏻 May the force be with you 🙏🏻

You are from NIT. You have such good academics. Many brilliant students go to such IITs and NITs. Its my personal view that naturally after NIT, you should have chosen technocracy, rather than civil services. Chair- Why is your photo not matching with your face?(also asked member 2 if it matches which he also replied no). Since when are you wearing these glasses? Me- Since last 2 years, Sir. Chair- How old is this photo? Me- 2.5 years Chair- Then it's not a recent one, but you were supposed to come with a recent photo. Me- Sir we were asked to come with the photo that was already submitted during filling the online application. Since it's almost been 1.5 years when I filled the form, the photo was a recent one at that time. And meanwhile, I have lost some hair, have gained some weight, and am using glasses, which might be some of the reasons behind the difference. (They looked convinced) Chair- So You've done your PG in 2020. You may be preparing since then. Is this your 1st attempt? Me- Yes, Sir. Chair- So, you've opted for OPS as your first preference. Why so? Me- Sir, since my childhood I've been watching my father who is also in the Police, and there's a personal likeness for the uniform... (Seemed convinced, but didn't ask any question related to Police throughout the interview) Chair- So you were a part of the Republic Day Parade in 2017. Under what capacity did you get this opportunity? Me- Sir, since I was a volunteer in NSS, I got the chance. Chair- Tell something about Sundargarh. Me- Sir, I'll first console the villagers upon reaching there so as to ensure them that we're there to help. Then, after taking inputs from seniors, I'll start the relief and rehabilitation work. CP- No, I'm asking about the management. For example, you'll employ somebody in food department, now continue with what else you'll do. Me- (I politely asked to give some seconds to think on it- he agreed- after 15/20 seconds I started) I'll divide my subordinates into different teams and will employ them in.......(Chairperson jumped to the next question) CP- So traveling is one of your hobbies. Which places in Odisha have you been travelled to? Me- Chilika, Hirakud, Tara Tarini, Gonasika, Kapilas(and mentioned few other locations) CP- Tell me something about Hirakud Me- Sir, it's the longest dam. CP- Is it a suspension dam or an earthen dam? Me- Sorry Sir, I'm not being able to recall at the moment. (Chairman sir indicated Member 1 to carry forward) Member 1- So why did you prefer Sikkim for your PG? Me- Sir, after having failure in JAM after my Graduation, I aspired for a Central University, and because of my interest in traveling, I thought of exploring the North East and that is how I chose Sikkim, and fortunately I got through the entrance exam.

  • M2- What do you mean by Disaster Management? Me- Sir, Disaster Managment means managing the hazards, be it natural or manmade, so as to reduce the impact and the externalities caused and at the same time, to take care that futher disasters are prevented. M2- What are the institutions that work for Disaster management? Me- Sir, there are NDRF and ODRAF (I couldn't think of NDMA at this moment) M2- Have you heard about an Act that works for it- the NDMA Act? Me- Yes Sir, the National Disaster Management Authority that is established under this act, being headed by Hon'ble PM. And there are SDMAs also in each state. M2- In ground level, who works in case of disaster management? Me- Sir, the team led by the DM. M2- No, I'm asking who actually does the ground work? Me- (I didn't get the question at this point and asked to repeat over which he got a bit irritated, however repeated the question) (I couldn't answer, and he told that I already have mentioned NDRF and that is the answer) M2- Chilika is a lake or lagoon? Me- Lake (actually a lagoon) M2- What is the difference between a lake and a lagoon? Me- (though I knew the answer I refrained from answering seeing the dissatisfaction and irritation on his face, and I didn't want to invite any further question on it) Sir, I'm not being able to recall at the moment. M2- Have you heard about Ramsar sites? How many Rasmar sites are there in India, how many in Odisha? Me- Yes Sir. We have 75 Ramsar sites in India, and in Odisha, it's 6. M2- Which one is the largest one in Odisha? Me- Sir, Chilika lake. M2- Largest in India? Me- Sir, I'm not sure, but if you permit I can take a guess. (He became irritated again and told there is nothing to guess) You may go now. Chair- Yes, you may go now. Me- Thank you Sir (to all the three members individually) MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE- Negatives- 1. Panel was not very cordial compared to other panels. 2. One member(M2) was a bit arrogant and was almost never satisfied on any answer, and even when I asked anything politely, he wasn't reacting very positively. 3. Although I continued with English throughout the interview, I heard somebody being denied to speak in Odia. (While many others were using both the mediums with the same panel)- so the language thing was not very clear in case of my panel. Positives- 1. I was quite confident, maybe because I was not prepared at all, or else I might have been panicking by thinking about endless questions. I had absolutely no fear till the end of the interview, even when they tried to grill me. 2. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, the questions, the interactions till the end. (Although I can't really answer to the question whether my interview went well or not, I can say that I am satisfied with my performance, as I couldn't have performed better with only a few days, the reason for which I decided not to prepare at all. So, to conclude, I can say that I gave my best shot, now the judgement is on their hands, and I'll have absolutly no issue with whether I make it or not) I wish everyone "All The Very Best
