Howship lacunae help in distinguishing the resorption surface from bone formation surface. Osteoclast-mediated resorption of bone takes place in scalloped areas which are referred to as Howship lacunae (resorptive pits) Haversian canals are central canals surroundec by a series of concentric lamellae. These rur longitudinally. Volkmann's canals run from the endosteal to the periosteal surface, horizontally Sharpey fibers are strands of fibrous tissue connecting the bone to the periosteum. Arrows in the electron micrograph depicted below points Howship lacunae. An osteoclast (Oc) showing ruffled border (RB) and clear zone (CZ) is in close juxtaposition to the resorptive pits.

Correct Answer - B Ans. B.Lower radius, scaphoid and capitate in alignment, lunate alone out of plane Perilunate dislocation and perilunate fracture dislocation are injuries that involve traumatic rupture of the radioscaphocapitate (RSC) ligament, the scapholunate interosseous ligament, and the lunotriquetral interosseous ligament. Lateral radiographs will reveal loss of collinearity between the capitate, lunate, and radius Typically the capitate is located dorsal to the lunate and is aligned with the radius
