The excommunication of the (F)SSPX by Pope Leo XIV proved to be a wonderful occasion to see who pretends to know what canon law is and who actually has the faintest idea of what they're talking about The consecration of Bishops itself wasn't a schismatic act, as a schism requires the group to not recognize the authority of the Roman Pontiff, while the SSPX claim that they still recognize the legitimacy of the Holy See, but disobeyed because they feared for the survival of their order. Having said that, they 100% without the shadow of a doubt took part in an episcopal ordination without an apostolic mandate, which means that they have excommunicated themselves automatically. The argument that the SSPX proposes is that they felt that the church had lost its orthodoxy, so they could just avoid having the pope's approval. It doesn't take a law degree to see that you cannot say that the pope has lost the divine mandate without saying that they also do not have authority anymore, which makes this a schismatic act by definition

Also hot deltarune take: (spoilers, kind of but not really) I really really REALLY hope they don't pull a Jax on Ralsei and make him trans because he ""enjoyed"" being called princess or wears feminine clothes/presents himself in a feminine way. Trans representation is cool and important, but I think it would be equally as cool to have representation for a man (or AMAB NB) that expresses himself in feminine ways without him necessarily being a trans girl. He's clearly queer-coded but I just hope they don't end up reinforcing the worryingly common equation "you like feminine stuff => you MUST be a woman"
