To 1. Hon. Health Minister, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. 2. Hon. Education Minister, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. 3. Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. 4. Chairman, University Grant Commission, New Delhi. 5. President, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. Dear Sir, I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Mr./ Ms./ Mrs. “Mention your Name, and I am one of the students who qualified the GPAT 2023 examination and secured admission to the Post Graduate program (M. Pharm). Similarly, many students have qualified the GPAT 2023 exam and secured admission to M. Pharm Post Graduate Course. Until the 2023 exam, it was conducted by NTA under the purview of AICTE and stipends of Rs. 12400 per month were provided to all qualified students who secured admission to the post-graduate course (M. Pharm) until 2022. However, suddenly AICTE is denying stipends to Pharmacy students who qualify the GPAT examination and secure admission to the M. Pharm course. I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue that is affecting numerous students who have qualified through the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) 2023 and have been admitted to various Post Graduate programs (M. Pharm) in the academic session 2023-2024. As per the AICTE Act, and in accordance with the initiative by AICTE, students who have qualified through GPAT are entitled to certain benefits, including stipends, during their course of study. However, there seems to be a significant discrepancy in the implementation of this provision, leading to distress among the affected students. It has come to my attention that while AICTE has been providing stipends to students pursuing architecture courses, even in institutes not approved by AICTE, it has been denying the same privilege to pharmacy students. This inconsistency is causing undue hardship to the pharmacy students who rely on these stipends to support their education. Furthermore, there appears to be a lack of clarity regarding the registration process for GPAT qualified students admitted to university-affiliated colleges. The UGC portal allows registration for GPAT qualified students admitted only in university departments, excluding those enrolled in affiliated colleges. This discrepancy in registration processes is creating confusion and hindering the smooth progress of these students' academic pursuits. Moreover, the ongoing conflict between UGC, AICTE and PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) regarding disbursement of GPAT stipend is exacerbating the situation, as there has been no clear communication from PCI regarding stipend disbursements or the GPAT exam for the year 2024, which is crucial for admission to Post Graduate courses. I urge you to intervene and address these issues promptly to alleviate the distress faced by the affected students. It is imperative that regulatory bodies such as UGC, AICTE and PCI work together cohesively to ensure the smooth functioning of educational processes and the welfare of students. I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter and seek your intervention to resolve these issues at the earliest convenience. Your swift action will not only provide relief to the affected students but also uphold the integrity and efficacy of our educational system. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I remain hopeful for a favourable resolution under your esteemed leadership. Sincerely *Mention your Name*. GPAT 2023 Qualified Student. Subject - URGENT & IMPORTANT: GPAT Stipend : Integrity and Efficacy of our educational system
