🎩 Marxism has never been a theory of human equality ⭐️ And reducing it to the idea that “everyone should be the same” is simply nonsense. When Marxism speaks of equality, it is primarily referring to socio-economic equality. To a society in which one person cannot appropriate the results of another person’s labor simply because they own the means of production or occupy a higher position within the economic hierarchy. In other words, it is about abolishing the exploitation of man by man. A person should be able to control the fruits of their own labor rather than surrendering them to someone who stands above them in the economic hierarchy. And this is precisely what many of us came to love Marxism for. Because there is a genuinely important - and, in my view, correct - idea at its core: society should not be structured in such a way that one person is forced to sell their labor to another simply in order to survive, while the fruits of that labor are appropriated by the owner of capital. Abolishing exploitation changes the very logic of human life. If a person no longer has to spend most of their life simply securing the necessities of existence, they gain far more room for development - for education, creativity, self-transformation, the realization of their abilities, and the pursuit of goals they genuinely consider their own. And that is why the communist vision is not about making everyone identical. It is about something entirely different. The ultimate goal of communists is the complete abolition of the exploitation of man by man. Not making people identical. Not enforcing uniformity. Not denying individual differences. But creating a society in which your life, your labor, and the results of your activity belong not to whoever happens to stand above you within the economic system, but to you yourself.

✊ Feminism and Friedrich Engels 🎩 Today, August 5, marks the anniversary of the death of Friedrich Engels - one of the founders of Marxism, Karl Marx's closest collaborator, and a man without whom the development of Marxist theory would have been impossible. Engels not only supported Marx throughout his life but also prepared the later volumes of "Capital" for publication after Marx's death. 🚩 On this day, it is worth remembering one of his most important works - "The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State". This book laid the foundation for the Marxist understanding of the origins of the family, the state, and the women's question. Engels demonstrates that social relations do not arise on their own, nor are they eternal. They change together with the mode of production and the development of the productive forces. At the earliest stage of human history, there existed primitive communism. People lived in communities, collectively produced the means of subsistence, and shared the products of their labor. Private property did not yet exist, and descent was traced through the maternal line, giving rise to predominantly matrilineal forms of social organization. However, as the productive forces developed, society began producing a surplus. It was at this point that private property emerged, and with it the division of society into classes. Some came to own the means of production, while others were forced to labor for them. Thus, according to historical materialism, the first class society - slave society - was born. Alongside this development came the emergence of the state - not as an institution standing above society, but as an instrument of class domination serving the interests of the economically ruling class. The position of women also underwent a fundamental transformation. As long as private property did not exist, there was no need to control inheritance. But once private property emerged, it became essential for men to pass accumulated wealth to their own heirs. According to Engels, this necessity gave rise to the patriarchal family as the dominant social form, reducing women to a subordinate position within society. From this, Engels draws one of the central conclusions of Marxist theory: the oppression of women is not rooted in biology or "human nature." It has concrete historical origins and emerged alongside private property and class society. For this reason, Marxism understands the women's question as inseparable from the broader struggle for class emancipation. As long as society remains based on the exploitation of one class by another, other forms of oppression cannot be fully abolished. Capitalism, like every previous socio-economic formation, contains internal contradictions. The development of these contradictions inevitably leads to socialist revolution, social ownership of the means of production, and the abolition of exploitation. Socialism opens the path toward communism - a classless society in which the economic foundations of inequality disappear, and relations between men and women are based not on property and dependence, but on the free association of equals. This is precisely why Engels' work remains relevant today. It demonstrates that the liberation of women cannot be reduced merely to legal equality or cultural change. As long as the economic foundations of exploitation remain intact, various forms of social oppression will continue to reproduce themselves. Therefore, the struggle for the genuine emancipation of women is inseparable from the struggle to overcome capitalism and build a socialist society.
