🚨 Security incident — action required Earlier today we detected an active security incident in our GitHub organization. Response is under way. This post explains what happened, what you need to do right now, and what we are doing. Some users need to take action. Please read the "Action required" section first. ⚠️ Action required If any of the following applies to you, please act now. 🛡 Network Guardians — rotate your seed immediately Seed material used by the Guardian program must be treated as compromised. Please generate a new seed and migrate your Guardian identity now. Do not wait. 💳 Web Wallet users — if you unlocked your web wallet between 03:00 – 10:00 UTC today Any Web Wallet session in that window may have exposed your seed. Please: 1. Generate a new identity in a fresh, trusted environment. 2. Move any funds from the potentially exposed identity to the new one. 3. Stop using the exposed seed. If you did not unlock in that window, you are not directly at risk from this vector — but if you have any doubt about when you last unlocked, please move to a fresh identity anyway. 🧑‍💻 Developers building on Qubic — pause Please do not pull, install, run, or deploy code from any Qubic repository until we complete the audit. Assume anything published or updated in the last 24 hours should be verified independently before you rely on it. We will confirm here when it is safe to resume. What happened (short version) A compromised contributor account was used to inject a malicious workflow into one of our repositories. The workflow extracted GitHub organization secrets, including a developer's personal access token. Using that token, the attacker invited themselves to eight of our repositories with admin rights and attempted further pushes. We caught it. We are now containing it (blocking accounts, revoking credentials, rotating secrets), auditing every repository for injected code, and rebuilding what needs to be rebuilt. Full technical details will be published once the response is complete. What we are doing right now - Blocking the compromised and attacker accounts - Enforcing 2FA across the whole GitHub organization - Rotating all secrets and CI/CD credentials - Auditing Core, Integration, and Client repositories for injected code - Resetting Docker images (Lite, Bob) - Resetting Web Wallet - Disabling all auto-publish workflows across the org - Revoking Docker push, NPM, NuGet, and FTP credentials - Coordinating with GitHub support - Reviewing organization access logs What we don't know yet - The exact initial compromise vector for the contributor account - The complete list of every secret the exfiltration workflow could reach We are being honest about the gaps because we would rather over-warn than under-warn. As the audit closes gaps, we will update this thread. Where to follow updates This thread is the source of truth for the incident. Please: - Do not act on unverified information circulating elsewhere. - Do not DM screenshots of your seed or private information to anyone — including anyone claiming to help. - If you see something suspicious in your account or in a Qubic repository, report it here. A full post-mortem — attack chain, root cause, remediation, and preventative measures — will be published after containment and audit complete. We're sorry this happened. That's the interactive reasoning benchmark where every frontier model (GPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini) scored below 1% at launch. 📈 Anna reached zero. Zero error on the task. The convergence method is confirmed. Mining paused for E221 to celebrate, and the network kept running as usual. 🖐 Outsourced Computing passed end-to-end testing. Repos are public on GitHub. First mainnet code ships next week. Full feature set targets end of July. 🚀 TypeScript SDK is in public beta. JS and TS devs can now build on Qubic with native crypto, contract access, wallet templates, and zero external dependencies. 👥 BD pipeline: 85 leads. Warm leads jumped from 9 to 31 in four weeks.
