Dear friends, comrades, and everyone connected to Bilgy, For seven years now, the Bilgisaray has been an open space for encounters, exchange, and organizing. Hundreds of groups, initiatives, and individuals have come through its doors. Every Tuesday, people cook, eat, and spend time together – to recharge, get to know one another, and connect different struggles. At Bilgy, films have been screened, delicious Egyptian brunches have been organized, and people have found a safe place to gather before, during, and after demonstrations. This is where discussions have taken place, people have danced, plans have been made, plenaries have been held, or people have simply sat together over a coffee. Bilgy is a low-threshold, open space that groups can use free of charge. Over the past years, it has become an important meeting point for the anti-racist movement in Berlin and beyond – not least because of its immediate proximity to Oranienplatz and the many struggles and initiatives that continue to shape this place today. But now Bilgy needs our support. The urgently needed renovation work and the construction of new toilets have completely used up our reserves. The financial situation is so precarious that without immediate help, Bilgy is seriously at risk of having to close. That is why we are reaching out to everyone who has used Bilgy in recent years, organized events here, held plenaries, or simply spent time here. To everyone who has been meaning to come by for a long time. And to everyone who believes that open, self-organized, and solidarity-based spaces are important in a city where exactly these places are disappearing more and more. Every donation helps. With your support, we can pay the rent for the coming months, complete the renovation, and finish the second room in the back building. This will make it possible for even more groups and initiatives to use Bilgy simultaneously for meetings, events, and organizing. At least as important, however, are regular contributions. If you are able to, please set up a standing order of 10, 20, or 50 euros per month – or whatever amount is manageable for you. Only with a reliable financial foundation can we preserve Bilgy in the long term. We do not want to lose Bilgy. Berlin needs places like this: open spaces where people come together, organize, learn from one another, and practice grassroots politics together. Marzipan gardens open it's doors once again for a steamy and moist pool party! With a live cabaret and DJ sets throughout the day, come and enjoy the blooming garden full of sweaty queers. In the process of legalization of the marzipan's garden that provides housing for over 15 queer and trans people, we are gathering once again more funds to afford the fire safety protocols, an essential requirement for the legalization of this trailer park. THIS JUNGO LIFE (2024, Morocco, 78min.) is a collaboration between filmmaker David Fedele, and a group of young refugees and asylum seekers from Sudan and South Sudan, who are living outside of Rabat by the sea. “Jungo" is a name traditionally given to seasonal agricultural workers from Sudan, which is now also adopted by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants on the road. Die Bundesregierung schließt den Abriss von Wohnhäusern für die A100 nicht aus! Während Berlin unter akutem Wohnungsmangel leidet, opfert das Verkehrsministerium bezahlbaren Wohnraum für eine umweltschädliche Betonwüste. Wir fordern: Wohnen ist Menschenrecht – Autobahn nicht! Ein neuer Bericht der Berliner Zeitung offenbart die rücksichtslose Logik hinter dem geplanten 17. Bauabschnitt der A100: Wohnraum in Gefahr: Das Bundesverkehrsministerium schließt explizit nicht aus, dass für den Weiterbau der Stadtautobahn erneut Wohnhäuser (u.a. im Kiez rund um die Beermannstraße) abgerissen werden müssen. Verdrängung mit System: Bereits für den 16. Bauabschnitt wurden günstige Mietwohnungen vernichtet. Nun droht den nächsten Anwohnerinnen und Anwohnern der Verlust ihrer Heimat – für Fahrspuren, Ausfahrten oder bloße Baustellenlogistik. Milliardenverschwendung: Bis zu 1,8 Milliarden Euro (oder mehr) an Steuergeldern sollen vom Bund in das teuerste Straßenbauprojekt Deutschlands gepumpt werden, während Schulen, Kitas und der ÖPNV marode sind. Unsere Forderung: Berlin braucht bezahlbare Wohnungen, saubere Luft und eine echte Verkehrswende – keine Schneise der Zerstörung quer durch unsere Kieze! Der 17.
