Hey Tribe. You ever notice how obsessed we are with light? We’re always told to chase the light, be the light, stay in the light. But nobody really talks about how much light needs darkness. You can’t see the stars during the day. They’re still there. They’re still shining. You just can’t see them because there’s no contrast. And I think transformation works the same way. Most of the real changes in our lives don’t happen when everything is bright and comfortable. They happen in the parts we’d rather avoid. The uncomfortable moments. The disruptions. The things that force us to stop and ask, “Okay, what am I supposed to do with this?” This is also where a lot of people misunderstand Feng Shui. They think it’s about bringing in more “good energy.” So they move some furniture, hang a mirror, buy a lucky object and try to avoid anything considered negative. But real Feng Shui doesn’t work like that. In classical Feng Shui, there are what people call negative stars. There are afflictions and certain energy patterns we’re often told to avoid or suppress. Now, does that mean we should activate them carelessly? Of course not. But it also doesn’t mean they’re useless. Sometimes these are the very energies that create the biggest changes because they disrupt what has become stagnant. They make it difficult for you to keep doing the same thing. And when you understand how to work with them properly, they can move things in your life that all the lucky objects in the world cannot. That’s the part people miss. Light gets all the credit, but very often, darkness is doing the heavy lifting. And this is one of the things we explore inside Feng Shui Academy. We’re not only learning how to find the “good” stars and avoid everything else. We’re learning to understand the entire structure. The timing, the tension and even the energies you may have been taught to fear. Because energy doesn’t always need to feel good before it can be useful.
