Reffurence « Announcements »

Dearest Attendees, Reffurence is coming to an end, no more small or big Reffurence events will take place. The Stichting will continue to wrap up its financial obligations, but will be disbanded once that is done. The reason for this is purely financial, things have been going wrong since mid 2025 and this issue has still not been resolved, we expect this to take at least until mid 2026 Things went wrong with our tax filings in Q2, 3 and 4. It started with an erroneous invoice by the hotel, which then resulted in our tax return being frozen, and escalated from there as other bills could also not be paid despite Reffurence having raised enough money overall. This still continues to be a big problem for us and the main area where our attention has been. The board of the stichting will continue to resolve the bookkeeping situation and pay the remaining invoices as much as possible. We want to stress that Reffurence is a nonprofit, board members who have loaned money to Reffurence are amongst those affected by the situation. As the stichting will be disbanded once this is done, we decided to share this with you early since it means that Reference will not continue afterwards. How about the media that has been uploaded? "When does reg open?" Well... about that. We are unfortunately dealing with a financial dispute with the hotel of our previous edition, which is still ongoing despite our best efforts these past months to resolve it. The missing sponsor pack items and any missing raffle winnings are unfortunately tied up with this also, as the situation has to be resolved first. The decision has been made to postpone the main convention by a year, meaning RFR Trial & Error will be hosted in 2027. However, we are actively looking into organizing some smaller event(s) before RFR Trial & Error! More information to be announced in the future... We understand that this is disappointing, but our full focus is needed towards resolving the situation. We thank you for your patience, and will share updates as soon as we have them, both on the ongoing wrap-up of RFR'25 as well as any announcements for new event(s)!

Hey everyone! We have a small update in regards to the remaining Sponsor Pack items from this year's edition, namely that we are still hard at work on getting them to you, but are unfortunately awaiting third parties. We are of course disheartened by this too, as we would've loved to have been able to get you all your items already by this point. We will share another update on the progress towards the end of January, including how to let us know if the address we should ship your items to has changed. In the meantime, we all at the RFR Volunteer team would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year, and hope to see you back at RFR in 2026!

I am writing to inform you about a data security incident involving the personal information you have with us.   On Nov 15, 2025, we discovered a data breach in our systems. The data accessed may have included the following types of personal information:   Identify types of personal information breached: Email, First and Last Name   We deeply regret that this incident occurred. We are conducting a review of the affected records and of all our computer systems. Attention Dreamers! A reminder that there are no loud room parties allowed tonight! If you want to party we ask that you do so at the main stage. Any loud room parties will be shut down.

Did you know... We have a VRChat Portal going on, right now! You might have dozed off and missed it, but Reffurence is connected to the dIgItAl WoRlD. Got people that couldn't make it to the convention? Or just have an ungodly amount of hours on VRChat? Come and say hello to floofs from all over the world! 🤗 The VRChat Portal is open until 23:30 in Panelroom 531 (First floor).

Lets keep things rolling! The Free Bowling will start at 20:00 till 23:00, group up with your friends or throw a ball with random attendees. We strongly advise to go without a fursuit and be mindful of your surroundings. If you do decide to come with a suit, either full or partial, bowling shoes are mandatory on the lanes! Be careful not to knock over drinks with your tail when you turn around! We gotta hit the pins, not the glasses!
