Until last week, I was planning to release revanced-patches-4.15.1 after implementing Return YouTube Comment Username in RVX. And I wrote the code to implement this with one of the third-party YouTube APIs, YouTube operational API (lemnoslife), and I'm almost done with it. lemnoslife received an email from Google with a legal warning about sharing YouTube Data API v3 developer key, and as a result, lemnoslife was discontinued as of yesterday. (Sharing and distributing YouTube Data API v3 developer keys appears to be a legal violation as well as a license violation. The full email is available on lemnoslife's website.) This has caused a bit of a hitch in my plans. The release of revanced-patches-4.15.1 will be slightly delayed, and revanced-patches-4.14.2 will be released instead.

I have received reports from ROOT users using RVX Manager that they are experiencing patch errors when updating RVX Until a new RVX Manager build is released, please re-install the unpatched YouTube on your device before updating RVX

Starting from revanced-patches-v2.186.1, it is no longer compatible with the official ReVanced Manager! To support YouTube v18.27.35, I updated the dependency, which led to the loss of compatibility with the official ReVanced Manager Switch to RVX Manager 1.4.3 (fork)

Q1. What is the vp9 codec override setting added in recent patches? A1. It is the same as the forced vp9 codec setting that existed in Vanced. (Second screenshot) Q2. Should I enable it? A2. Since most devices released after about 6-7 years ago support the vp9 codec, most users do not need to enable the setting. If your device is old enough, or if your device's hardware specifications aren't good enough, this option may work for you. (e.g. 1440p/2160p resolution option not selectable in 4k test video) Q3. Why was it added? A3. I got too many requests
