To, The Chairman, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE), Jammu / Srinagar, J&K *(Copy to: Hon'ble Chief Minister, UT of Jammu & Kashmir)* Subject: Request to delay Choice Filling for NEET UG 2026 Counselling until the declaration of MCC Round 1 AIQ results. Respected Sir, With profound respect, we, the NEET UG 2026 aspirants from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, would like to draw your kind attention to a critical issue regarding the upcoming state counselling schedule. We earnestly request you to delay the JKBOPEE Choice Filling process until the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases its Round 1 selection list for the All India Quota (AIQ). As you may be aware, a significant number of students from J&K have enthusiastically participated in the MCC counselling for the AIQ quota this year. However, MCC has recently rescheduled the Round 1 dates. Given historical precedents—such as last year when MCC extended the Round 1 deadline seven times—there is a high probability of further delays or overlapping timelines. Initiating the JKBOPEE Choice Filling before the MCC Round 1 results are declared will create severe logistical and academic disadvantages for the students of J&K, specifically: * Decreased AIQ Participation: Without knowing their MCC Round 1 status, many top-ranking J&K students will be forced to secure their state seats out of panic, thereby abandoning the AIQ process. * Seat Blocking: Students participating in both counselling processes simultaneously will end up holding seats in both the UT and AIQ quotas. This will result in mass seat blocking and subsequent seat wastage. * Artificially High State Cutoffs: The combination of seat blocking and reduced migration of top scorers to the AIQ will inevitably trigger an unnecessarily high cutoff for the UT Counselling, heavily penalizing borderline students who solely rely on the state quota. Therefore, synchronizing the JKBOPEE schedule to commence *after* the MCC Round 1 results will resolve these issues. It will allow top-merit students to secure MBBS seats through the central AIQ pool, naturally vacating state quota seats for other deserving J&K students. Ultimately, this strategic delay will maximize the total number of J&K students securing MBBS admissions nationwide. We request you to kindly consider this matter in the larger academic interest of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and issue a notification delaying the JKBOPEE choice filling accordingly. Dear Students, ​I have been receiving a large number of messages regarding the NEET UG 2026 PML registration, where many of you are seeing a "Deficient" status on your application forms. ​Please do not panic or stress about this. Here are the important points to keep in mind: 1. JKBOPEE will issue an official deficiency notification within a few days on their official website. 2. Students whose forms are marked deficient will need to visit either the BOPEE Office, Srinagar or BOPEE Office, Jammu to submit the missing documents/clear the deficiency. 3. The exact schedule and dates for visiting the office will be clearly mentioned in the upcoming notice. 4. Your application form will NOT be rejected.
