  • I don't intend to go into health policy discussions in the book but I should provide a few leads for students who might be interested. This is a placeholder for some more work on the topic when I get to this point.

  • I've added Anthony Fauci's INFAMOUS QUOTE to the cover page of th PH textbook: "I’m a public health official. I don't give advice about economic things." - Dr. Anthony Fauci THERE IS NO BETTER SUMMARY OF THE TOTAL IDIOCY OF THOSE CHARGED WITH MANAGING PUBLIC HEALTH TODAY. HAND OVER PUBLIC HEALTH TO ECONOMISTS ELSE BE PREPARED TO BE KILLED BY THE SUTTONS AND FAUCIS OF THE FUTURE!

  • Congratulations to Indians on the 80th anniversary of independence (completed: 79 years). But my commiserations, as well, on your DISMAL and completely SELF-CHOSEN PERFORMANCE. You've chosen to drive away TENS OF THOUSANDS of your best people (plus millions of others), you've created the most corrupt society in the world, the most filthy country - with rubbish of indescribable heinousness sprawled everywhere, a country where poverty and illiteracy continues unabated, and where crony capitalists have amassed untold wealth. Now you are also terrorising the Muslims and Christians of India - and stopping ordinary people even from eating meat in the name of a distorted version of "Hinduism" (thus further lowering your already feeble IQ). I'm sorry, but I can't celebrate the hellhole called India - the country of my birth, for improving which I spent so much FUTILE effort. Want to change? The solution has been readily (and freely) available to you at least since 2008: http://sanjeev.sabhlokcity.com/book1/BFN-fullbook.pdf As expected, the Cockroaches have DONE NOTHING BECAUSE THEY ARE TRUE COCKROACHES. They can't think.

  • Mine is not only the first PH textbook ever written by an economist, it is also the only one that provides a COMPLETE PICTURE about every health issue, including ultra-processed food. It is therefore the only book (I suspect!) to explain the HUGE HEALTH BENEFITS OF UPF. Undoubtedly, excess of UPF is harmful to health, but it is very rare for anyone to reach an extreme level of consumption at which point it starts harming them. For most people who eat UPF, it is a time saver (and money saver) and is part of a RATIONAL LIFESTYLE to improve prosperity and health. UPF in moderation is a WINNER. But don't expect "doctors" (who are typically mentally sick: obsessive) to even understand these broader facts. Or for half-baked "health ministers" like @RobertKennedyJr - who runs a cooking class - to understand. DOES KENNEDY EVEN KNOW THAT THE POOR DON'T HAVE TIME TO COOK, AND CAN'T AFFORD FANCY "KNIFE SHARPENERS" - OR EVEN A PROPER KITCHEN? In order to become rich enough to reach that point, they need to eat UPF - the great gift of modern technology to the poor. https://sabhlok.open-ph.org/Docs/Textbook-SPH-draft_Part2.pdf

  • Just as those who oppose alcohol completely ignore the benefits of alcohol (always in moderation!), so also people like @RobertKennedyJr @SecKennedy always ignore the TRUE COST OF HOME MADE FOODS, which can be humongous. I asked ChatGTP to prepare an illustration to summarise these costs. Its chart is very conservative, only at $40 per hour. Retired people (with zero opportunity cost of time) only pay for ingredients, but working couples (who may need to leave home early in the morning and return late, exhausted: and also have to take care of children) pay for TIME. They can buy food and cook at home ONLY BY FORFEITING INCOME. UPF is a life-saviour for hundreds of millions of couples. Ban UPF and people will quit employment, increasing poverty. Poorer people live shorter lives, a well known fact. In other words, UPF provides REAL HEALTH BENEFITS. And as we have seen, with antibiotics and mouthwashes strongly implicated, we can't even say for sure that UPF is the only thing that causes obesity. Recall @TheLancet article I shared yesterday that wants to heavily regulate UPF. Recall how these LUNATICS NEVER SEE THE COMPLETE PICTURE. No mention of the benefits of UPF. I call doctors neurotic obsessives for a very good reason. These people CAN NEVER SEE THE COMPLETE PICTURE. Such people should NEVER be allowed anywhere in government as managers of public health. https://chatgpt.com/share/6a7e4b0b-ff74-83ec-ac6c-71f5176ea321

  • I'm a great fan of ChatGPT's skills at making superior diagrams. I fed it some information and asked for a diagram to illustrate how a damaged gut microbiome leads to obesity. It has done a superlative job, as usual. This diagram will go into the PH textbook.

  • Even as I can't find ANY evidence that UPF is dangerous (anything less than that can't justify government intervention), or even what SPECIFIC part of UPF INDIRECTLY causes what disease, the COMMIE The Lancet (the journal which has been publishing BLATANTLY FALSE CLAIMS RE: LIVES SAVED BY VACCINES) has published a hugely interventionist agenda for UPF. https://www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journals/lancet/PIIS0140-6736(25)01566-1.pdf It seems certain that Robert Kennedy Jr is deriving his inspiration from this commie rag. He wants FDA to take a more active role in regulating FOOD THAT IS NOT DANGEROUS.

  • Here's the placeholder for chapter 36

  • A government is quite justified to regulate for safety, hence chlorinated water is a valid intervention (to be reviewed every few years to determine if any less intrusive intervention is available). That's consistent with NEGATIVE LIBERTY. But when a government mandates fortification of food and water, it enters the space of POSITIVE LIBERTY (a communist idea: a "do good by the state" idea). I wasn't intending to study fortification because of time constraints but I've now decided to add a chapter on it. After all, mine is a comprehensive PH textbook and fortification IS something done in the name of public health. I've also noticed controversies around two of these: flouride and folic acid. These need to be resolved. My general position is very clear. Just like I don't really care for individual vaccines (although I've got a chapter to review them because of the VAST misinformation propagated by THUG organisations like CDC and WHO) - but for the abolition of vaccine mandates (and hence FOR individual choice); so also I don't care for these chemicals (flouride/ folic acid, etc.) but for INDIVIDUAL CHOICE: let people choose, don't force these things on anyone. But "public health" is a COMMUNIST DISCIPLINE in which citizens are seen as livestock belonging to the state. PH "experts" don't miss a single opportunity to FORCE citizens at every step, like they would force chicken in a farm. I think it is time to start producing PH students who are not communist.

  • I came across claims on YouTube that iodine deficiency is widely prevalent and can potentially cause cancer. I didn't have time to watch the entire video, so i asked ChatGPT for a summary and also an evaluation: https://chatgpt.com/share/6a7d5a56-5708-83ec-8941-ad8dd83b393e I must say that we have now crossed a major threshold in the progress of human civilisation. A decade ago I would barely have had access to the kinds of YT videos we see today. But that's not even the issue. Today, I can EXTRACT all relevant info in a matter of minutes and also get a preliminary evaluation, from AI. Some people worry that we haven't seen any productivity gains yet from AI. I am confident that AI is already leading to MASSIVE productivity gains. If I were leading a research team in a consulting organisation, I could now easily produce HIGHER QUALITY output with far less staff. E.g. I might easily be able to get rid of 50% of my staff. Productivity improvements in the knowledge industry are hard to achieve, but modern AI is making that real.

  • Since my textbook is the first one (ever) being written from the perspective of the FOUNDERS OF PUBLIC HEALTH (who were mainly economists: Bentham, Chadwick and J.S. Mill), I am repeatedly citing Bentham's Constitutional Code in the textbook, as it defines well the boundaries of public health. Btw, I've transferred the functions of the Preventive Service and Health Ministers to my blog - for ease of access: https://sabhlokcity.com/2026/08/functions-of-the-preventive-service-minister-and-health-minster-bentham/ As we can see, there is only ONE MENTION OF FOOD in these functions, and that is in relation to foods that are "DANGEROUS" (by which is clearly meant IMMEDIATELY DANGEROUS: polluted, rotten, damanged, toxic) Ultra-processed foods are NOT DANGEROUS. They can cause harm in EXCESS. But even water can cause harm in excess (many marathon runners die because they drink too much water but not the salts). Just because someone consumes UPF in excess is no reason to regulate food. Robert Kennedy Jr. is WELL OUT OF ORDER - going well beyond the scope of his LIMITED functions. He should go back to Bentham to examine the proper scope of his role. In this regard, he should also understand Southwood Smith and Chadwick - who wrote a SCATHING REPORT CALLING FOR ABOLITION OF QUARANTINE. The founders were right on 99% of things. Public health has gone BACKWARDS since its founders passed away, being hijacked by COMMIES. The "modern public health" TOTALITARIANS and COMMUNISTS like Kennedy are intent on forcing their views on society. I condemn ALL SUCH COMMIES. Let's put the "public health" genie back in the bottle. It has become a monster.

  • This is why economists MUST lead public health. Doctors are NEUROTIC OBSESSIVES, completely unable to see the Big Picture. The economist, on the other hand, starts with the Big Picture and then looks at EVERYTHING - including all costs and all benefits. The data are clear. Countries that consume more alcohol have HIGHER life expectancy. In the OECD, wine drinking has a positive effect on life expectancy but beer and spirits have a negative effect. Overall, data don't tell us that alcohol is a problem for health. The Economist recently explained how reduced alcohol consumption might be contributing to reduced opportunities to for people to meet, hence to lower birth rates. Alcohol has been a part of human society for THOUSANDS OF YEARS - because it also served a social function. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT BORN ARE "HEALTHY". >>> NEVER LISTEN TO A "DOCTOR" ABOUT YOUR DIET. USE COMMON SENSE. Doctors are EXTREME NEUROTICS. https://sanjeev.sabhlokcity.com/Misc/Textbook-SPH-draft_Part2.pdf

  • In addition to impacting the gut microbiome, it can be argued that the modern lifestyle also impacts the ORAL MICROBIOME. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41579-023-00963-6 It does seem that evidence is accumulating that an imbalanced oral microbiome can lead to a wide range of diseases. If Mark Burhenne is right (and I need to verify this), then EXCESSIVE DISINFECTION of the mouth is as harmful to the oral micribiome as antibiotics are to the gut microbiome. His recommendations include: - avoiding unnecessary antimicrobial mouthwash; - diet and reduction of factors that promote an acidic oral environment; - careful rather than excessively aggressive cleaning; - preserving rather than destroying the oral biofilm. The modern lifestyle in this case is about EXCESSIVE AND AGGRESSIVE "CLEANING" OF THE MOUTH. It is also about soft food that doesn't require chewing, thereby narrowing the jaw and weakning the teeth (which are also crooked, and subject to cracking/ damage - hence repeated treatments). (Note: I'

  • Grok: Evidence exists that bacteria from our gums are found in greater rates in Alzheimer's patients than in others. "P. gingivalis DNA and its toxic proteases (gingipains, specifically RgpB and Kgp) have been found in the brains and cerebrospinal fluid of AD patients at far higher rates than in non-AD controls." Grok is sceptical about the overall evidence, but agrees that gum health is a good thing, anyway: https://grok.com/share/bGVnYWN5LWNvcHk_cffbed8c-5199-41c4-88a0-f8b31568e995

  • I've just come across the most amazing theory - that Alzheimer’s disease is potentially caused by gum bacteria. Basically, this seems to be a kind of imbalance in the mouth microbiome. I wasn’t aware that every part of our body is routinely populated by bacteria - including the brain, heart, joints and the bloodstream. What seems to be happening is an imbalance in the various microbiomes in the body, which precipitate different diseases. The entire body and the ecological environment in which it operates seems to be extraordinarily complex. And we don't understand even a fraction of it. That makes it even more important for governments to not dabble in vaccine schedules or dietary guidelines. What was known in the past as a "fact" is repeatedly being turned upside down. Governments needs some humility. youtu.be/jNrm-9sp-RQ?
