guys so one of my summer plans was to finally start TikTok and become a video content creator… and I actually started .... for the first 30 days, I’m just focusing on being consistent and making posting a habit. so expect a mix of SE stuff, small business, vlogs, random little things and basically whatever I feel like posting 😂 not really trying to have everything figured out yet… just creating and having fun with it 🫶🏽 @zaya_journal

Today my dad told me, “The TV channels aren’t working. Go check what’s wrong and fix it.” 😭 Because apparently, being a software engineering student automatically means I know EVERYTHING 💀😂 And of course… Dad wanted to watch Al Arabiya, so I had to act fast. 😭 After consulting my trusted technical assistant, ChatGPT 🤝😂, I discovered that the problem was probably the dish, not the receiver or installation. So what did I do? I became Superwoman for the next 20 minutes and climbed all the way to the roof… knowing absolutely NOTHING about satellite dishes. 😭 I started moving the dish left… right… up… down… “መጣ?” 👀 “አልመጣም!” 😭 my mom from below “እንዳትወድቂ!!!” 😭😭 Me on the roof, fighting and trying to find Al Arabiya. 😂 Then suddenly… “META META!!!” 📺😭 THE CHANNELS CAME BACK. I swear, at that moment I felt like I had just fixed a satellite for NASA.

A friend of mine got his phone stolen, and apparently that wasn’t a good enough excuse to stop replying to my Telegram messages So I built TeleLite , a small, self-hosted Telegram client for feature phones. The problem is that just telling someone to “use Telegram Web” doesn’t really work on these phones. Modern Telegram Web relies heavily on JavaScript and a pretty heavy web app, which is a lot to ask from an old Java phone or a low-power device. You can access Telegram through: A lightweight web client A J2ME .jar app for old Java phones A KaiOS app(not tested because the emulator didnt work well) It’s text-only, lightweight, and designed for those “my smartphone is lost/stolen/broken” situations god forbid 😭 It might actually come in handy someday, so take it, self-host it, break it, improve it, whatever.
