🔥 CALL FOR CLINICAL II STUDENT 🔥 EMSA-Haramaya C2 students, your engagement is needed. Project C.U.R.E, in collaboration with Haramaya University, is hosting a Primary Care & Cervical Screening Campaign at Hiwot Fana Hospital from December 7–10, 2025. We are looking for 12 committed clinical students who can participate activily on this activity. SCORA HARAMAYA — WORLD AIDS DAY 🗓 December 1 — “Equalize” World AIDS Day is a global reminder of our shared responsibility to raise awareness, fight stigma, and support people living with HIV. As SCORA Haramaya, we stand committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health through education, advocacy, and compassionate action. --- 📜 A Brief History of HIV/AIDS HIV/AIDS was first recognized in 1981, when unusual infections were reported among young men in the USA. By 1983, scientists identified the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) as the cause. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the epidemic spread globally, claiming millions of lives. A major turning point came in 1996 with the discovery of antiretroviral therapy (ART), transforming HIV from a fatal disease into a manageable chronic condition. Today, with early testing, effective ART, and education, people living with HIV can lead long, healthy lives — and mother-to-child transmission can be reduced to near zero. --- 🔴 SCORA Haramaya’s Message At SCORA, we continue to promote: ❤️ Youth-friendly sexual health education ❤️ Access to testing and treatment ❤️ Ending stigma and misinformation ❤️ Support for people living with HIV ❤️ A community where compassion replaces discrimination HIV is treatable.
