  • Bajaj Auto: net profit fell 10% year-on-year to Rs 1,801.85 crore in the Jan-March quarter. Dividend announced: Rs 210 per share. Record date: 20 June. Suzlon Energy: net profit rose 365% year-on-year to Rs 1,182.22 crore in the Jan-Mar quarter. Samvardhana Motherson: net profit fell 23% year-on-year to Rs 1,115 crore in the Jan-March quarter. Dividend announced: Rs 0.35 per share. Record date: 23 June. The board approved a 1:2 bonus issue of shares (1 bonus share for every 2 shares held), and it is subject to shareholder approval.

  • RBI has transferred a surplus of Rs. 2.69 lakh crore to the central government, which is 27.37% more from last year, the highest ever. Balance sheet expanded 8.2% to Rs 76.25 lakh crore. The total value of banknotes in circulation rose 6% year-on-year to Rs 36.86 lakh crore, as of March 2025: RBI annual report. Wireless mobile subscribers saw a net addition of 19.45 lakh in April. Jio saw a net gain of 26.45 lakh subscribers, followed by Airtel, which added 1.71 lakh subscribers. Vodafone-Idea (Vi) lost 6.48 lakh subscribers, while BSNL lost 1.55 lakh subscribers: TRAI.

  • Ashok Leyland: net profit rose 32% year-on-year to Rs 1,130 crore in the Jan-March quarter. The board approved a 1:1 bonus issue of shares. Record date: yet to be announced. Reliance: will invest Rs 75,000 crore in northeastern India over the next 5 years to set up 350 biogas plants, expand telecom, retail, FMCG factories, etc., said Chairman Mukesh Ambani. JSW Steel: net profit rose 16% year-on-year to Rs 1,503 crore in the Jan-March quarter. Dividend announced: Rs 2.8 per share. Record date: 8 July. The board approved raising Rs 7,000 crore through QIP (Qualified Institutional Placement) and another Rs 7,000 crore via NCDs (Non-Convertible Debentures) with equity warrants. They also approved issuing up to Rs 5,000 crore in NCDs privately or publicly. Tata Steel: inaugurated the expanded Kalinganagar plant at Jajpur, Odisha. It will increase the company’s crude steel capacity from 3 to 8 million tonnes per annum. Adani Green: company’s promoter, Ardour Investment Holding, converted 5.47 million warrants into equity shares worth Rs 607.7 crore, raising promoter group shareholding from 61.6% to 61.73%.

  • The RBI approved a dividend payout of Rs 2.69 lakh crore to the central government for FY 2024-25. It is a 27.4% year-on-year increase from the Rs 2.1 lakh crore dividend paid in FY 2023-24. Japan’s annual inflation rate remained unchanged at 3.6% in April. Core inflation (excluding fresh food prices) rose to 3.5% from 3.2% in March. India’s forex reserves fell by $4.89 billion to $685.73 billion in the week that ended on 16 May. Belrise Industries IPO was subscribed 41.30 times. Retail subscription: 4.27 times.   • India’s infrastructure output growth fell drastically to 0.5% year-on-year in April, compared to 4.6% in March. The production rose for cement (+6.7%), coal (+3.5%), steel (+3%), electricity (+1%) and natural gas (0.4%). Production declined for crude oil (-2.8%), refinery products (-4.5%) and fertilisers (-4.2%): Commerce Ministry. Suzuki Motorcycle India has begun construction on a new 100-acre 2-wheeler manufacturing plant in IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana. The facility aims to produce 7.5 lakh units annually in its initial phase, with operations expected to start in 2027. The plant involves an investment of Rs 1,200 crore. Belrise Industries IPO will be open for subscription from 21 May (tomorrow) till 23 May. The IPO has a size of Rs 2,150 crore.

Max Healthcare: net profit rose 27% year-on-year to Rs 319 crore in the Jan-March quarter. Dividend announced: Rs 1.5 per share. Record date: yet to be announced. Torrent Pharma: net profit rose 11% year-on-year to Rs 498 crore in the Jan-March quarter. Dividend announced: Rs 6 per share. Record date: 20 June. Board recommended raising Rs 5,000 crore through a QIP (Qualified Insititutional Placement).
