••A struggling nafs••

‎⁦ #free_nasr_alfhd⁩ ‎⁧ #ناصر_الفهد⁩ ‎I often find myself remembering the special Shuyūkh whom I loved for the sake of Allah, never letting a single day pass without making duʿāʾ for them repeatedly throughout the day. Foremost among those I mention after my parents is ḥabīb al-qalb, al-Shaykh al-Imām Nāṣir al-Fahd — فكَّ اللهُ بالعزِّ أسره. ‎I reminisce about the days of daʿwah we spent together, recalling the statement of Imām Aḥmad — may Allah have mercy on him — “إذا مات أصدقاء الرجل ذلّ” — “When a man’s friends die, he becomes humbled.” At times, I find myself extending its meaning in my heart: when a man’s friends die or are imprisoned, he becomes humbled. ‎Over the years, I often longed to read those letters again, though I had assumed they had all been confiscated during repeated raids in which digital devices, papers, and entire collections of belongings were seized. In many of those raids, they would even leaf through every book in my library, leaving the shelves emptied and the volumes scattered across the floor. ‎Weeks ago, however, I was overwhelmed with joy to discover that I had once printed one of his letters and used it as a bookmark in a notebook. ‎The Shaykh — فكَّ اللهُ بالعزِّ أسره — went out of his way to send me several letters from prison, written with ink made from a mixture of coffee and water, and a straw used as a pen. The first of those letters was the one attached here, sent after he learned of my release from prison. It contained words of encouragement and support the like of which, at that time, I had heard from no one outside my own family. For that alone, apart from his many other favors, I don't believe I could ever make enough duʿāʾ for him. ‎Having no close companion besides my father — may Allah grant him a long life filled with righteous deeds — I often find comfort in the companionship of Shaykh Nāṣir — فكَّ اللهُ بالعزِّ أسره — by returning to his books during quiet moments. I keep them within arm’s reach wherever I sit; they bring solace to my heart, and I never tire of reading them. ‎Rediscovering this letter brought even greater comfort, especially at a time like this. ‎May Allah keep him and his brothers steadfast upon the ḥaqq, hasten their release with honour, and grant us the joy of seeing them as imams leading this ummah sooner rather than later. ‎May Allah humiliate those who imprisoned them and those who rejoice in their imprisonment and oppression, and reunite us with them in al-Firdaws. ‎Ahmad Musa Jibril ‎4 Dhul-Ḥijjah 1447 AH ‎✍️**A Letter from Shaykh Nāṣir  — فكَّ اللهُ بالعزِّ أسره —** ‎From Nasser bin Hamad Al-Fahd to the two noble brothers and virtuous Shaykhs, Musa bin Jibril and his son Ahmad, may Allah protect them from every evil and grant them success in every good. Amin. ‎Salāmun ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh. To proceed: ‎Indeed, I praise Allah to you, the One besides whom there is no deity, and I ask Him, Glorified be He, that this letter reaches you while you are in goodness and well-being. News of you reached me through (******) — may Allah grant him success — and I was pleased with the state you are now upon [i.e., the da‘wah you are engaged in], and praise belongs to Allah. ‎Whatever has befallen you of trials is the path of the prophets and the righteous reformers. ‎I ask Allah, Glorified be He, to make what has afflicted you an elevation in your ranks and an expiation for your sins, and to make us and you steadfast upon the firm word in this worldly life and the Hereafter. ‎And I give you glad tidings that we, along with all the brothers in the prisons, are in a tremendous blessing that reminds us of the statement of Shaykh al-Islam — may Allah have mercy on him — during his final imprisonment in the Citadel: “If I were given the equivalent of this Citadel filled with gold, it would not equal for me the gratitude I owe for this blessing.” ‎Convey my greetings to all the brothers with you, and may Allah preserve you. ‎Peace be upon you, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. ‎Al-Ha’ir Prison, ‎20 Rabīʿ al-Thānī 1434 AH

This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct one’s faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions involves some kind of worship through which the slaves may draw closer to Allah, and some kind of blessing through which Allah bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The happy person is the one who makes the most of these special months, days and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be touched by the blessing of Allah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is safe from the flames of Hell. Alhamdulillāh for a Lord who keeps sending us seasons of mercy, fresh chances, and sacred invitations..and now, the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. For hearts that couldn’t do well in Ramadan, it is yet another beautiful opportunity gifted to us by Ar-Ra’ūf, the Most Kind, for us to rise again in good deeds and draw nearer to Him. #StrivingTowardsAlwadood

Al-Munafiqun 63:11 وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَاۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ But never will Allāh delay a soul when its time has come. And Allāh is Aware of what you do. ފަހެ އެއްވެސް نَفْس އެއް އެ نَفْس އެއްގެ ވަގުތުޖެހުމުން ދެން اللَّهُ ލަސްނުކުރައްވާ ހުއްޓެވެ. އަދި اللَّهُ ކަލޭމެން ކުރާހާ ކަމެއްގެ خَبَر މޮޅަށް ދެނެވޮޑިގެންވެއެވެ.

Who would have thought that in the silence of the deep sea, far from the light of the sun, their appointed time would arrive? Who would have thought that their meeting with Malakul Mawt had already been written..not on land, not in a hospital bed, but in the depths of a dark sea cave, where no voice can reach and no hand can save? Yet there he comes, by the command of Allah, even in the deepest darkness… even in the most hidden place. Indeed, every soul has an appointed time and place, written long before we came into existence.

هُوَ الَّذِى يُصَلِّى عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَـئِكَتُهُ (He it is Who sends Salah on you, and His angels too,) This is encouragement to remember Allah, i.e., He will remember you, so remember Him. لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنَ الظُّلُمَـتِ إِلَى النُّورِ (that He may bring…

And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful. އަދި ކަލޭމެންގެ މައްޗަށް ރަޙުމަތްލައްވާނީ ހަމަ އެކަލާނގެއެވެ. އަދި އެކަލާނގެ މަލާއިކަތްބޭކަލުން ކަލޭމެންގެ ފާފަފުއްސެވުމަށާއި ރަޙުމަތްލެއްވުމަށް ދުޢާ ކުރައްވައެވެ. އެއީ އުރެދުމާއި ޖާހިލުކަމުގެ އަނދިރީން ކަލޭމެންނެރެ ކިޔަމަންތެރިކަމާއި ތެދުމަގުގެ އަލިކަމުގެ ތެރެއަށް ކަލޭމެންވެއްދުމަށްޓަކައެވެ. އަދި މުއުމިނުންނާއި މެދު ﷲ ވޮޑިގެންވަނީ ރަޙުމަތްލައްވާ އޯގާވަންތަ ކަލަކުކަމުގައެވެ. Al-Ahzab 43

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ ذِكۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا O you who have believed, remember Allāh with much remembrance, وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلًا And exalt Him morning and afternoon. -Al Ahzab 41-42

A consolation to your distressed soul ♥️ Special message from Shaykh Musa ♥️ When you need something from Allah, turn to Him. Not only when the hardship becomes unbearable, but in every moment, in every need, big or small. Our Lord, Allah, descends every night in a manner that befits His Majesty and calls out: “Who is asking Me so I may give to him? Who is calling upon Me so I may answer him? Who is seeking My forgiveness so I may forgive him?” — Bukhari & Muslim So ask Him. Speak to Him. Cry to Him. Depend on Him. Say: إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ “You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help.” — Surah Al-Fatihah 1, verse 5 O Allah, You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help in every single matter. O Allah, help me in everything, because I am constantly in need of You. I am in need of Your mercy, Your guidance, Your protection, Your provision, and Your forgiveness. There is no power and no might except through You. Allah loves that His servant asks Him. He loves the hand raised in dua. He loves the heart that keeps returning to Him. It is mentioned that Allah said to Musa (عليه السلام): “Ask Me for everything, even the salt for your food, and the strap of your sandal when it breaks.” Think about that. Musa (عليه السلام) stood near the sea where salt was beneath his feet, yet Allah still wanted him to ask. The shoelaces can be found in the streets, yet Allah still wanted him to ask. The pasture for the sheep was already spread across the earth, yet Allah still wanted him to ask. Because Allah does not only want to give you. Allah wants you to turn to Him. He wants your heart attached to Him before the blessing reaches your hand. Allah says: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدْعُونِىٓ أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ “And your Lord said: ‘Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism) and ask Me for anything] I will respond to your (invocation).’” — Surah Ghafir, verse 60 And Allah says: وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ “And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad ﷺ) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me.” — Surah al-Baqarah, verse 186 Never think your request is too small for Allah. The One who controls the heavens and the earth can surely handle your smallest worry and your greatest pain. Ask Him for guidance. Ask Him for mercy. Ask Him for strength. Ask Him for provision. Ask Him for healing. Ask Him for peace in your heart. Ask Him for Jannah. Ask Him for everything. Be persistent in dua. Be consistent in dua. Call upon Allah with certainty. Have firm determination and beautiful expectations of the outcome from your Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered.” — at-Tirmidhi And remember: Sometimes Allah answers immediately. Sometimes He delays because He loves to hear your voice. Sometimes He gives you something greater than what you asked for. And sometimes He protects you from what would have harmed you. But no sincere dua is ever lost with Allah. Don’t become despondent and never give up hope of Allah’s good mercy. Allah is always there to answer you, so keep knocking on the door of Ar-Rahman. For the door of Allah is never closed. And remember this beautiful principle in Islam: “Get to know Allah in times of prosperity, and He will know you in times of adversity.” So remember Allah before the hardship comes. Turn to Him before you are broken. Call upon Him in your ease, your health, your comfort, and your happiness — and you will find Him with you in your kest moments. Ghafir 40:47 وَإِذۡ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُاْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمۡ تَبَعٗا فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّغۡنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبٗا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?" އަދި ނަރަކަވަންތަ ވެރީން ނަރަކައިގައި ތިބެގެން އެއްބަޔަކު އަނެއް ބަޔަކާ ޒުވާބުކޮށް، حجّة قائم ކުރާ ވަގުތު (ދުނިޔޭގެ حياة ގައި) ދެރަކޮށް އުޅުނު ދެރަމީހުން، ބޮޑެތި ކިބުރުވެރި، ބޮޑާ މީހުންނަށް ބުނާނެއެވެ. "(ދުނިޔޭގައި) އަހުރެމެން ވީ ހަމަކަށަވަރުން ކަލޭމެންނާ تبع ވެގެންނެވެ. ފަހެ ކަލޭމެން އަހުރެމެންގެ ކިބައިން އަލިފާނުގެ ކުޑަ މިންވަރެއް ނަމަވެސް تحمّل ކޮށް دفاع ކޮށްދީފާނު ހެއްޔެވެ؟"

For ruqyah, it is important to know what you are reading, that it is the Word of our Rabb, Allah, the Most Great. Have yaqeen (firm certainty) that it is the cure. Know its meaning, reflect upon it, and seek healing through it. It is best to recite it yourself as much as you can, while listening is also very beneficial especially for those who find it difficult to read themselves. And we make duʿāʾ that the Qur'an becomes the first remedy we turn to in every hardship, and that Allah protects us from every evil, harm, and affliction.
