NYC, together with our partners, will be organising the 3rd Singapore-Vietnam Youth Leaders Exchange Programme (SVYLEP) and 5th Singapore-Malaysia Youth Leaders Exchange Programme (SMYLEP) in 2026. These programmes aim to cultivate stronger bonds between young leaders across the region and promote greater appreciation for national policies, systems, bilateral relations and regional concerns through meaningful exchanges. 3rd Singapore-Vietnam Youth Leaders Exchange Programme (SVYLEP) NYC and the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam (NCYV) will co-organise the 3rd SVYLEP from 14–18 July 2026 in Singapore. Themed “From Ideas to Impact: Youth Leadership and Innovation in an Evolving World,” the programme will bring together emerging youth leaders from Singapore and Vietnam to strengthen leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural collaboration through dialogues, learning journeys, and engagements with leaders across the public, private, and people sectors. The programme also seeks to foster mutual understanding, regional perspectives, and enduring friendships between youth leaders from both countries. 5th Singapore-Malaysia Youth Leaders Exchange Programme (SMYLEP) Jointly organised by NYC and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia (KBS), the 5th SMYLEP will take place in Singapore from 26–29 July 2026 and in Penang, Malaysia from 29 July–1 August 2026. Themed “Bridging Heritage and Innovation for a Sustainable Future,” the programme will explore how heritage, sustainability, and innovation can be harnessed to create meaningful social, cultural, and environmental impact. Through learning journeys, dialogues, and experiential activities across both countries, participants will gain insights into heritage conservation, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and impact-driven entrepreneurship, while building stronger ties between youth leaders from Singapore and Malaysia.

We are pleased to share that NYC is coordinating the Port of Call in Singapore for the 49th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP), and they are seeking warm and welcoming families to host youths for a Homestay programme from 6 to 8 February 2026. This will be a great opportunity to interact and be involved in cultural exchanges with youths from across ASEAN and Japan. Sponsored by the Japanese Government and supported by ASEAN member states, SSEAYP is an annual programme that brings together over 150 youths from Southeast Asia and Japan, offering them the extraordinary experience of living together aboard the Nippon Maru Ship for more than 30 days. Apart from broadening youths’ international outlook, SSEAYP also fosters friendship and greater understanding among youths from the region. The 49th SSEAYP will take place from 15 January to 17 February 2026 and visit two of the ASEAN Member States (Singapore, Thailand) and Japan. The Port of Call in Singapore will be held from 4 to 8 February 2026. Youths will engage in specially curated learning journeys to various institutions, and experience a unique homestay programme to immerse in the life of Singaporeans Here’s the eligibility criteria: - Singaporean Citizens, above the age of 21 - Possess a keen interest in cultural exchanges and forging new friendships with youths from Southeast Asia and Japan - Available to host youths from 6 to 8 February 2026 - Able to accommodate a minimum of 2 youths at home   The applications for Homestay Hosts will be open from 18 July to 12 September 2025. NYC and SIS will also be hosting an Info Session on 30 August 2025, Saturday, from 10am – 11:30am to share more about homestays and what host families can expect.
