For those that don't know: I weave on a loom and sell my wares, which are posted on my telegram channel. This supplements my family income as a homeschool mom. I currently have three lightweight summer shawls available made from raw silk and organic cotton and hand dyed yarns. I'd like to find homes for them. I offer a sliding scale price point for our Folk to help make my work available to various people in various situations. The complete info for each shawl can be found on my Loom Woven channel. If this interests you or anyone you know, I'd really appreciate a visibility boost. Thank you! 🤍 https://t.me/LoomWoven
Ahnenerbe Emblem Pyrography on salvaged wood 12” x 16” Custom commission Founded July 1st, 1935 by Henrich Himler, the Deutsches Ahnenerbe was established to study the cultural achievements of ancient Aryan peoples and to share those findings with the public. The organization funded explorations around the world and pioneered new research on the origins of civilization. By combining many schools of study under one banner the Ahnenerbe sought to build a comprehensive new view on history, free of the established liberal conventions prominent in Europe at that time. The Ahnenerbe organized and funded numerous expeditions throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America revealing cultural artifacts suggesting an ancient Aryan expansion that spanned much of the world. Though much research was lost after the war and further investigation was heavily discouraged by the liberal establishment, the legacy of the Ahnenerbe has survived as a cultural undercurrent shrouded in mystery.

I just learned today that this is called "Man of the Earth" or "wild potato vine." It's native to North America and related to the morning glory (as you can see in the pattern of the flower). Apparently, the roots are edible when cooked and taste similar to sweet potato! (Should not be eaten raw though) I spotted them while walking today and decided to share my research.
Here is part one of a much more in depth video of how to sand cast a silver Pictish pendant. If it wasn’t for the freely available guides online, Nicky wouldn’t have been able to get this far with Caledonian Forge. We hope that this short series will help someone to get started and make something beautiful. Part two is coming soon!
Loved watching this process! Part 2 is also available on the channel.

My daughter just received this book as a birthday gift from a dear friend of ours and we've really enjoyed reading from it the past few nights! She just turned 3 and she loves music, so it's been fun making up melodies to these. The illustrations are lovely and it's also a nice way to get kids familiar with flowers that grow in the area.
