🚀 Looking to diversify your Singapore portfolio beyond the big banks? If your SG portfolio is heavily concentrated in local banks, you might be missing out on growth and yield from other key sectors. Well well, risk on appetite was back in the market last night as all 3 main Wall Street indexes finished higher, with the Dow making a fresh record high. However from history, a negative June and July usually results in a green August only ~50% of the time and a green September ~15% of the time. Rest of Q3 does not look favourable. Align with the trend that market shaking events tend to occur in August, remeber the yen-carry trade scare in 2024? May prove to be wrong, as seasonality pointed to a green and strong July but we ended negative for 2026. Goes to show that seasonality is not a crystal ball and only serves as a guide, we should position ourselves accordingly and be willing to adapt if anything changes.
