#offtopic Ignore this post if you're not from my neighborhood. What's up guys! Is there a teacher in our district who's got overall 8.5 in IELTS recently? One of my former students mentioned that to me in a casual conversation, saying this guy's writing score was a whopping 8.0. I don't know the guy personally, but I would be genuinely glad if a fellow IELTS instructor in town really managed to pull off such a stunning score. Well, I did try to do my own research in order to take a look at the IELTS certificate but, to my surprise, did not succeed. Are you kidding me???? Who on Planet Earth does not share their results publicly, especially when they get such a high score? Don't get me wrong, I'm just pretty confident in my searching skills. I mean, if I couldn't find it on the internet, then it doesn't exist on the internet. Some people say this is just what students are talking about and causing this false information to circulate. Others say it would only be logical to assume that this particular result would be in every telegram channel in the district if the news/result was real. What do you think? Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Haha :) If you ask me, I don't think any logical person believes this kind of crap. Let me see the certificate, let me judge its authenticity and if it is real and not fake, I will be the first one to congratulate the owner. If this guy is teaching now, I just want to say this to his students: Wake up! :) Just had like 5 minutes to kill and here you go.

Got this from somewhere and forgot where it came from. WE DON'T OWN ANYTHING How often do we catch ourselves using the possessive pronouns regarding objects or people, claiming to be the rightful owners of them? Almost always. My house. My car. My kid, etc. We console ourselves with the illusionary thought of control we have over certain things. In fact, nothing and no one truly belongs to us. We come into this world completely naked and pass away the same way. The blessings and earthly comforts we have here are simply given to us “on rent”. Even our body has an expiry period after which our soul abandons it. Although we are consciously aware of it, we oftentimes attach great significance to the things/people/ourselves. The fleeting and temporary nature of things slips our minds, letting items/material values/status that are in our disposal define us. In reality, they don’t matter at all. Nothing does. #randomthoughts

A score breakdown for a speaking test Fluency and Coherence: 6.0 Weak points: a lot of hesitation, frequent searches for language, lack of conjunctions Lexical resource: 7.0 Weak points: lack of less common vocabulary, only average level of words are available in your speech, lack of topic-related words Grammatical range and accuracy: 7.0 Weak points: Lack of complex sentences, Inaccuracies - although not frequent, mistakes with prepositions Pronunciation: 7.0 Weak points: insufficient sentence stress and intonation, mispronunciation of individual words such as "specific".
