just found out mongodb atlas throws an error when connecting using Safaricom data on development If it keeps throwing querySrv ECONNREFUSED errors when using safari network, MongoDB Atlas isn't actually blocked. The issue is that Safaricom’s default DNS currently fails to resolve MongoDB's short mongodb+srv:// SRV records. (Ethio Telecom handles them fine, which makes it super confusing). You have two quick fixes for this: 1️⃣ The Quick Code Fix: In your Atlas dashboard, when grabbing your connection string, look for the older driver options or toggle off the "SRV Connection String" button. Use the standard legacy string format (the long one with explicit :27017 ports). It bypasses the DNS issue completely and works seamlessly. 2️⃣ The Network Fix: Just change your PC/Mac network settings to use a public DNS like Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). Once you do that, the standard mongodb+srv:// string starts working instantly on Safaricom data. i guess good to know @the_kaleidoscope

Guests of borrowed mornings, borrowed sunsets, borrowed conversations that somehow become memories. Even the people we love are not possessions; they are guests in our hearts, just as we are guests in theirs. We meet, we change one another, and we carry pieces of each other into places we may never return to. Perhaps that is why kindness matters so much. Because none of us truly owns this place. We are simply passing through, sharing the same sky for a little while.
