But Jesus said, “Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant.” — Matthew 20:26 God is not simply looking at what we achieve, but at how faithfully we use what He has given us to serve Him and others. True humility is knowing who we are, knowing who God is, and being willing to serve wherever He places us. May we never become so focused on being important that we forget the importance of serving. Walking obediently with Christ does not guarantee an easy life. John could have questioned God's plan, but God worked through him even in such a difficult season. As we choose to walk with Christ, remember that the Lord never lets go of His children; He preserves us completely.
