📢 Draft TIP Proposal to address $THOR liquidity + Distribution Update From May 15 to June 26 the THORChain protocol was halted. This meant the THOR/RUNE pool, the deepest source of $THOR liquidity was frozen (LPs also suffered losses from the THORChain hack). During this time $THOR buybacks, pool donations, $vTHOR, $uTHOR and $yTHOR distributions were also halted. Since then, core contributors have successfully campaigned with THORChain to backfill the $THOR/RUNE pool from TC reserves which has not been compensated enough with the current store migration. This will be processed over a period after upcoming THORChain update. $THOR's liquidity situation has been a clear concern for quite sometime, only exacerbated during the liquidity crisis created by THORChain halt ($THOR was effectively not tradable). During this period, THORSwap has collected over $500K in revenue, and core contributors have created a concrete plan for a token upgrade from $THOR to a new $METRO ticker, while addressing 3 key pillars: Liquidity (bootstrapping new permanent POL with a $500K USDC/METRO pool Brand confusion (unify THORSwap and Metro platforms under one distinct token with a clear new narrative and identity) Holder alignment (unify the multiple different staking/yield parties under one new streamlined more modern staking contract) Please view and vote on temp check on our forum: https://forum.thorswap.finance/thread/74611 (or on the thread in discord). 📣 THORChain swaps re-enabled Cross-chain swaps via THORChain is back online on THORSwap and Metro.exchange following key protocol security updates.
