The pie charts illustrate the proportion of students attending three distinct courses at Salisbury College in three separate years: 1984, 1994, and 2004. Overall, the proportion of students taking mixed-media and online courses increased considerably, albeit to varying degrees, whereas those for correspondence and face to face courses experienced a pronounced decline throughout the period. Notably, face-to-face courses remained the most popular option among students over the years, despite experiencing a substantial decline. As for downward trends, face-to-face courses accounted for the highest share in all three years, amounting to a staggering 67% at the outset. The figure then dropped markedly to 40% by 2004, maintaining its dominant position. Meanwhile, correspondence courses ranked second in 1984, representing 20%. By 2004, the figure decreased fourfold to 5%, making it the least preferred option. Online and mixed-media courses followed the opposite patterns. The former was introduced into a learning system in 1994, accounting for 12% of enrollments. Then, the proportion of students taking online courses rose sharply by the end of the period, tripling to 35%.
