A reminder on the post above 👆 we recommend to remove all funds from the Vegas network before 27 October

This is a reminder that following the community’s decision to suspend the network, the network shutdown validator rewards outlined in the governance proposal will conclude on 27th October. After this date, validators will no longer have an incentive to run their nodes and, while they may choose to continue doing so, it is expected that the Vega chain may cease operations at any point from the 27th October. If that happens withdrawals from the Vega bridge may become impossible. Users should ensure all balances are withdrawn from the Vega network, including both the Vega network step and the Ethereum/Arbitrum “completion” step before validator rewards are discontinued. Note that by now all locked rewards earned prior to the suspension of markets on 10th September have unlocked and vested so can be withdrawn at any time. Please remember; if/when the validators stop running the network there is nothing the project team can do to recover your funds. Use https://console.vega.xyz/#/portfolio to withdraw your balances.

@everyone Voting on the proposal to retire the Vega chain has ended. Although voters overwhelmingly supported this proposal, it was not enacted due to a large number of voters unstaking their VEGA tokens before the end of the voting period. See the forum update: https://community.vega.xyz/t/vbp-11-proposal-to-deprecate-vega-chain/4588 As a protective measure, the Vega protocol requires voters’ tokens to be staked at the end of the voting period for their votes to count. In this case, the removal of staked tokens dropped the total votes below the required participation threshold. Given that the majority of on-chain votes were supportive, and that almost all conversations we’ve had with token holders have also been supportive of this proposal, it has been resubmitted. You now have until 11:00 CEST on Tuesday, 10th September, to vote on the resubmitted proposal. Please ensure that your VEGA tokens remain staked at least until that time for your vote to count. @everyone The on-chain governance proposal for the changes outlined in our recent blog post, "Vega: The Next Phase," is live! It was necessary to split this into two proposals. The first proposal, now live, effectively shuts down all on-chain operations and will determine the project’s future direction as outlined in the blog post.
