(T-08) Is Twin Tracking Passe? Friends, I talked about twin tracking of long & short tail distribution of statistical yields in my 2024 video. A lot of water has flown under that bridge since then. It is now possible to quad-track long & short tail distribution of αlpha in larger number of scrips. I expected a radical and accelerated change in markets from CY 2025 onwards as western systems traders set up shop in India and brought with them technology, computing power of AI and deep pockets full of cash. Bingo! Our efforts to prep ahead of this influx have been proven to be in the right direction. Newbie traders, copycats and impostors sponging off my trading ideas make a note - this is NOT the same as going long and short simultaneously. That would make you delta neutral 🤣 The core bet is a steroid injected pay-off on linear and non-linear yields that aim to achieve an equilibrium between accelerated risk-reward metrics. Ideally the correlation coefficient between the two should be 0.50-1.0. However there maybe brief bouts of outlier level shakeouts that are introduced by smart money to throw weaker hands off the trail. What If? That's a great question! What if the quad trade cycle does not achieve fruition in the first go? Overwhelming statistical odds favour rolling up and out at scratch-plus level αlpha. Attention - this is not the same as CBOE's stock repair strategy! The difference is chalk & cheese! CBOE's excellent strategy is a solution to a specific undesired event. My plan is a soup-to-nuts blueprint. If you are using the CBOE's original options toolbox application version 5.0 or older, some details are available there. So, is twin tracking dying/dead? Depends on which end of the rainbow you are placed. I attended a few "seminars" by "experts" who are still teaching the gullible, unsuspecting newbie traders what I used to teach at the MCX between 2005-2010 and blatantly & illegally copying ideas from my books & old videos and media articles. To a blank mind, any data is "new." So twin tracking will continue as more and more retail "discovers" its thrill, for atleast a few more years. To a veteran trader seeking natural progression, its now a fond old memory and they will formulate fade plays against the dinosaurs. Will quad-tracking go the way of the dinosaur too? You can bet on it! Its just a matter of time before structured derivatives products and LEAPs land on our shores. Jane Streets of the world will ensure it. (T-09) Pay Attention to Cheque Writers! Friends, I've noticed a quiet change in the attitude of people connected to me via social media. Earlier when I wrote cheque writers moved the needles and gauges in the markets and they would call the shots, I faced trolling. My weekly Tuesday's Moneycontrol article was the latest one on those lines. No trolling received! And now comes this Eco Times article - https://bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com/articles/india-new-issue-nabard-withdraws-bond-issue-as-investors-seek-higher-returns-bankers-say/132852571 which shocks the reader. A central govt body forced to withdraw a ₹ 8,000 crore bond issue because cheque writers refused outright to deploy at sub-optimal coupons. Recently I nudged you to look beyond calendar year 2026 or even CY 2027 when formulating trading blueprints. Let the works of Davidowitz, Kooyker, Yevgeniy and the K-wave be your guiding lights. (T-15) The Experts Are About to Learn a Lesson! Friends, This piece echoes my thoughts! https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:share:7485891641053057024/ Buy-and-hold was simply the erosion of buying power of fiat currencies as coupon rates were forced lower. It took more of the debased fiat currency to buy higher p/e stocks. It was seen as appreciation. After 9/11 central bankers shafted the fixed income cheque writers by cutting coupons faster and printed more fiat currency. Now that hyperinflation fears stop CBs from rampant printing of unbacked currency, everyone will *have to* go back to the cheque writers for liquidity. And fixed income cheque writers will demand (and get!) more than their pound of flesh, after being shafted for decades by being handed out abysmal, if not negative, inflation adjusted yields. Cost & availability of funds will be the most formidable challenge. And every "expert" will learn an important lesson - it's the cheque writers' money that moves the needles and gauges in the global financial markets. Which is why I nudged you to learn Dick Stoken's theories. I also warned you since March this year that your broadsword strategies will be ineffective as a standalone strategic or tactical blueprint. This will be an urban style warfare - house-to-house (scrip-to-scrip). Back to Kooyker, Davidowitz, Yevgeniy and the k-wave. The market has changed, so must our style! (T-18) Time to Change Tracks Warrior-Traders! In March I warned you, you would have to change tracks from broadsword strategies to a style that mimicked urban warfare. House-to-house (scrip-to-scrip), slow, deliberate and hard work. Tools we used hitherto like procyclical hysteresis, phase 1- 8 strategies and cost of funds wont work in isolation anymore. In the last 120 days, the sands of the markets have shifted significantly. Its now time to focus on works of Yevgeniy, the k-wave, Davidowitz and Kooyker.
